He added he was told about the incident by an "irate" woman who called security from the room but kept hanging up when he tried to call back.
The security member, who does not identify Houston by name in the call, said he was led to believe the stricken woman "wasn't breathing".
He says: "Apparently she wasn’t breathing."
The operator replies: "She wasn’t breathing? Is she breathing now?"
The security man says: "I don’t know. The person who called me was irate, and I couldn’t get much out of her."

BEVERLY Hills Police release tape of call made the day singer died
The 911 operator is heard telling him that paramedics would be sent to the hotel.
Houston’s assistant, her hairdresser, and bodyguard were in her room at the time the alarm was raised.
The superstar singer, 48, died in suite 434 at the Los Angeles hotel on February 11. Her official cause of death was listed as "accidental drowning".
Cocaine was found in her system but not enough for a lethal dose.
According to the LA County Coroner, Whitney's chronic use of the drug caused a narrowing of her arteries, which resulted in a heart attack before her death.
