"My name is Tyna Lemmy as you already know and I am a business woman. Growing up was fun, as I was loved by my parents and siblings. It was also challenging as in the mist of been loved by my strict but loving parents, I had to also discover myself. Our weekend has been gatecrashed with another attack by the notorious Boko Haram "insecurity /terrorism network".On the News today, courtesy Punch Newspapers:

GUNMEN suspected to be members of the terrorist Islamic sect, Boko Haram, on Thursday killed four policemen and injured another two near the house of the Acting Inspector-General of Police, Mohammed Abubakar.In Minna, Niger State, some gunmen suspected to be members of the sect similarly killed two policemen. Also, a bomb suspected to have been planted by the sect was discovered at the St. Mary’s Catholic Church, located on Church Road, Minna, by members who attended the Ash Wednesday mass.

Policemen defy IG, mount checkpoints in Lagos...

I knew this would be the case, but...Let's be hopeful that our new I.G. would be sincere enough to ensure that his directives are implemented.Barely 10 days after the Acting Inspector-General of Police, Alhaji Muhammad Abubakar, banned police checkpoints across the country, policemen have returned to checkpoints in Lagos.The Lagos-Ibadan Expressway, which is notorious for its endless traffic snarl before the IG’s pronouncement, has also returned to its former state as a result of extortion of money by policemen.Punch's correspondent noticed that the policemen returned to the checkpoints at the Ojodu Berger by-pass on the expressway on Tuesday.When Punch's correspondent visited the area on Wednesday, traffic on the Berger end of the road was at a standstill. It was noticed that the policemen had set up barricades in their usual fashion to ensure that each of the two lanes became tight for vehicles to pass through.

Los Angeles prosecutors are urging a judge to deny a request for freedom from Michael Jackson's incarcerated physician as he appeals his involuntary manslaughter conviction.Dr. Conrad Murray filed legal documents last month (Jan12) asking to be released from jail, where he is currently serving a four-year sentence after a jury found him guilty of administering the fatal dose of anaesthetic Propofol, which cost the King of Pop his life in 2009.He is asking to be released on bail or placed under house arrest at his girlfriend Nicole Alvarez's home pending the result of his appeal - and he's even willing to wear an electronic monitoring bracelet.

Four suspected Boko Haram members were arrested in Kano on Wednesday after a gun battle between the Joint Task Force and the fundamentalist group at the Tinshama, Hotoro Quarters area of the city.THE PUNCH gathered that a policeman was wounded during the gun battle while the sect members were arrested.The Public Relations Officer of the Kano JTF, Lt. Ikedichi Iweha, confirmed on the telephone that four members of the sect were arrested during the encounter.“There is no casualty on our side,” Iweha said.Residents of the area recounted that explosions and gunfire woke them up at about 5am.

The stage appeared set for another round of showdown between President Goodluck Jonathan and Labour unions on the issue of fuel subsidy with labour on Tuesday asking the Federal Government to revert the pump price of petrol to N65 per liter.The Nigeria Labour Congress and the Association of Senior Civil Servants of Nigeria said the Jonathan administration had no option other than to reverse the price from its present N97 to the old N65 per liter since the President had said he was rethinking the Subsidy Reinvestment and Empowerment Programme.

Jonathan on Monday reportedly told chieftains of the Peoples Democratic Party at their 58th National Executive Committee meeting in Abuja that implementation of the palliatives to cushion the effects of subsidy removal were no longer feasible.

If 45-year-old Wale Adelu had heeded the warnings of the General Overseer of his church, he would not have joined the gang that robbed the Akure branch of Diamond Bank Plc, in November last year. During the robbery, four people were killed.PUNCH Metro learnt that the founder of the Prayer Centre Church of God, on Idanre Road in Akure, Ondo State, Prophet Samson Oluwamode, where Adelu worships, had on different occasions warned members who were into robbery to quit or face the wrath of God.It was further gathered that few weeks before the November 22, 2011, bank robbery, the cleric was more specific when he warned that a member of the church would be caught and disgraced after a bloody but successful robbery operation.

My Weekend...And Yours?

My weekend usually starts with the crazy Lagos traffic and the exhaustion I experience on my journey back home from work on Friday. My Friday night was spent watching TV and generally lazying around...I was totally elated that I would not be waking up early the next day (Saturday). I usually wake up late on Saturdays...Say from 10:00am*covers eyes with hands*. Please don't blame me. Na Lagos wahala cause am.

Saturdays are my chilling days...If I am not at the saloon, I am writing or reading something new...I seldom go out on Saturdays as it's my day for ME...

My visiting days are usually Sundays after church. But I didn't visit this weekend*was too lazy to*.
