The movie which was supposed to hit the market on 17th February, 2012, has been postpone until further notice, as both MJ and Great Star Production Ltd have failed to reach agreement on the monetary part. 

MJ has already been allegedly paid in full, but she is still insisting on taking royalties from future sales of the movie.

The Chief Magistrate Court sitting in Wuse Zone 6, Abuja yesterday, March 1, 2012 adjourned hearing until March 13, 2012 in the N15 million Naira fraud allegation against controversial Nollywood actor, Jim Iyke.

The chief Magistrate, Okeagu Azubike adjourned hearing on the matter after the prosecutor, Inspector Danjuma Ebune had informed the court that he was handed over the case file by the initial prosecutor, Mr Chijoke Okezie that very yesterday morning, so he needed time to study the case.“I want to study the file so I can equip myself with the facts of the case,” Inspector Danjuma Ebune submitted.Responding, counsel to the accused, Barrister Esther Uzoma, told the honourable court that she was willing to give the prosecutor time to study the case file.“We agree to give the prosecution time to study the case,” Barrister Esther said, pointing out that the accused person has consistently appeared in court.

EFCC arraigns Lagos Speaker, aide for money laundering...

Economic and Financial Crimes Commission has arraigned the Speaker, Lagos State House of Assembly, Adeyemi Ikuforiji, before a Federal High Court in Lagos for money laundering.

Also arraigned in the court presided over by Justice Okechukwu Okeke on Thursday was the Speaker’s Personal Assistant, Oyebode Atoyebi.The accused were charged with amended 20 counts of money laundering.

I have observed as a people's person, that staffs are usually a lot more relaxed, enthusiastic and readily available to carry on any kind of assignment on Fridays! Well, isn't it obvious? You might ask. It is.

Friday is the end of the working week, when there is some form of relief from your usual hectic schedule and hassles. It is a day when you prepare to relax for the weekend and let your hair down!

I love Fridays, mainly because I tend to sleep longer, watch TV late into the night and just chill...Since I am not the clubby type, I sometimes hang out with friends after work...When I am not too tired though...

In my work place, business closes by 4:00pm and there is a forum for all staff to chill, eat together and just groove...In the long run, it generates a bond amongst the staff.

Anyway, I got to the church and it was filled with people who knew her and who had heard of her. As I approached the church, I was already battling with the huge lump in my throat, making sure that I could at least sit through the service. A 44-year-old woman, Taiwo Rasaq, has accused her husband, Fatai, at an Oshodi Grade ‘B’ Customary Court, Lagos, of calling her a Human Immuno Deficiency Virus carrier.

Taiwo, who is the chairperson of the Oluwaseyi Fruit Market, Ikeja, said her husband came into the centre of the market, held a condom and falsely declared her as an HIV/AIDS carrier.

She said her husband claimed that because of her “HIV status,” he had been making love to her with condoms.

Lagos Uncovers N82m Fraud, Arrests 100 Ghost Workers

To me, this development is a positive step towards eradicating corruption in Lagos State. News courtesy of PM News.The Lagos State Government says it has uncovered N82 million fraud from ghost workers in Local Governments, Local Council Development Areas and Local Government Education Authorities and arrested 100 of them.

The Office of the Auditor-General for Local Governments in Lagos State said the government was able to stop the payment of over N82 million to ghost workers, and deceased pensioners for the years 2010 and 2011 in the affected councils whose names were not listed.

According to a statement from the office, the Permanent Secretary/Auditor-General for Local Governments, Mr Mohammed Hassan who disclosed this during a management meeting, stated that it was a major breakthrough for the administration of Governor Babatunde Raji Fashola in its bid to tackle the menace of ghost workers in the state.

He explained that during the exercise, over 100 ghost workers, impersonators of deceased pensioners were caught, and over N82 million was recovered.

OPC member kills Etisalat employee over N10 toll

Here's some sad news courtesy Punch Newspapers:

A suspected member of the Odua Peoples Congress known by the pseudonym “Ultimate” on Monday allegedly killed an employee of Etisalat, Chukwuma Eze, in the Ejigbo area of Lagos State during an argument over N10 toll.

PUNCH Metro learnt that N10 toll was collected by the OPC members at a footbridge that links Ejigbo with Ajao Estate.

It was gathered that the deceased told the collectors that he had only N1, 000 denominations with him and offered it to one of the collectors who asked him to come back for his balance.

Eze was said to have agreed but was shocked when on his return a female member of the group insisted that the deceased did not give N1,000 to the collectors.

The telecoms employee was said to have been angered by the denial resulting in a fight between him and the female member of the group.

But the young man’s future has become bleak as he currently needs approximately N6.5 million to undergo surgery abroad.

According to an eyewitness who spoke to P.M.NEWS on phone, “they targeted policemen on duty at roundabout but the Mobile Policemen engaged them in a gun duel. During the gun battle, I saw a civilian gunned down through a kiosk where I took refuge.”

Comedy actor, James Iroha a.k.a. Gringory of the Masquerade TV comedy is dead.

He died this morning after a battle with illness.

National President of the Actors Guild of Nigeria, Segun Arinze confirmed the death toP.M.NEWS this afternoon.

Arinze added: “I spoke with the son Uche who confirmed the story.

“He was aged 70 years. We at AGN commiserate with his family. May God grant him eternal rest.”

Popular actor, Fred Amata in his post said: “He was a man of sterling talent, his particular style has inspired a generation of talents! His legacy will live long, God grant him rest.”

The accident, during which the actress’ Range Rover SUV with customized registration number L B O, was damaged, occurred in front of Ifo Police Station, Ogun State.

Nollywood Reel gathered that the actress was said to be on high speed when a Nissan saloon car, driving out of the Police station rammed into her vehicle. It took the prompt intervention of policemen around to bring the tense situation under control.

Pastors in Nigeria have lambasted the founder, Christ Embassy, Pastor Chris Oyakhilome over his comment that masturbation is not a sin against God but a mere habit that God is not angry about.

Since the controversial pastor made the comment recently, angry reactions have been pouring in from Christendom over what they called heresy, being preached by the pastor, which negates the words of God.

Oyakhilome was asked by one of his pastors how one could overcome masturbation and he replied that “the reason you are thinking of stopping it (masturbation) is because you think it has become a habit for you… masturbation is not more than a habit than any other habit.

“So once you make up your mind that you want to break a particular habit, you just do it, you make up your mind… in fact the best way to break a habit is to replace it with another habit.

Suicide bombers attack Gov Jang’s church • Police recover explosives from Christians in Bauchi

TWO suicide bombers, suspected to be members of the terrorist Islamic sect, Boko Haram, on Sunday morning attacked a church where Plateau State Governor Jonah Jang worships in Jos, killing two worshippers.

The two bombers also died. Four others died in the angry protest by Jos youths that followed the incident. Thirty-eight other persons reportedly sustained injuries from the bombing.

The sect in a statement by its spokesman, Abu Qaqa, has claimed responsibility for the attack.

The attack came even as the police claimed they defused two bombs planted at their barracks in Gombe.
