OUR FSS (Friday Special Story):The Promising Lifestyles Of UNIPORT 4] .Ugonna, Lloyd, Chiadiaka & Tekena..

Hello Friends!

When the news broke that four students of UNIPORT Ugonna, Lloyd, Tekena and Chidiaka were beaten to death before they were set ablaze by an Irate Mob in ALUU Community, the whole country was in shock.
The young undergraduates were accused of various grave offences-from stealing to Cultism.
Emerging facts across Nigeria have it that the 4 victims were neither armed robbers nor cultists as earlier speculated.

One of the stories being circulated on the social Media has it that one of the victims, Ugonna actually went to collect the money owed him by a friend and somehow, during the course of collecting the money, an argument ensued.

The debtor then raised a false alarm alerting the indigenes of the community to come to his rescue, and sadly, there had been reports of incessant theft/robberies in that community. And so the boys were rounded -up taken to the Chief and even though they pleaded their innocence.

They were then stripped, paraded as robbers, beaten and subsequently burned to death. The outcry of the killings of these young man cut down in their prime, is their emerging bright future.
Two of these guys, Ugonna, a.k.a Tipsy and Lloyd a.k.a Big L. who were cousins were promising musicians who recently did a rap song.

The duo titled the rap song, Aint No Love in The Heart of the City.
Just like the message of the song, the residents of Aluu community showed no love on the four students as they were brutally murdered in the heart of the city, penultimate Friday, without a blink from any of the security agencies.

Rap music had made Lloyd and Ugonna popular in UNIPORT. As upcoming artistes, they both won a rap contest, tagged "Rap Attack" where star rapper, Vector was the judge. They have also been on tour with Kenni's music All Stars In Owerri were they dazzled the audience and it was evident that they were stars in the making who were cut down in the prime.

Ugonna, from all indications, lived a comfortable life. Photos that emerged after his death showed that he lived a life of affluence as some pictures even suggested that he was widely travelled. One of the pictures released was reportedly taken in London.

Also, the pictures of the other undergraduates were not so different and it is surprising that they were branded as thieves who had stolen mobile phones and a laptop.
One of the victims, Chidiaka who is fondly called Alladin is said to be a funny lad who enjoyed making people laugh. He was equally talented and could give a professional comedian a run for his money.

In an interview conducted by "Spaceman" a thoroughbred broadcaster on Radio Port Harcourt, the victims, friends described the lifestyles of the murdered young guys as fantastic. This is not a matter of heresy. I had personal dealings with them, in fact, the truth is, Tekena wasn't feeling fine that week. Lloyd, Ugonna and Tekena were nothing close to being cultist or criminals.

They were wonderful people who had so much respect for themselves, their family and the school. They were people who had clear vision of what they want for themselves. If you check through their facebook page and their twitter page, you would realize that those boys had vision, so it is wicked for anybody to assume that Ugonna, Tipsy as he was fondly called, Lloyd, (Big L) and Tekena were cultists. It is cruel to attach such allegation to them.

Another of their friends Audu Chizee, who is also a musician also said something about his late pals.
"I stumbled into the pictures a day after my rehearsal and I felt very bad because these are guys I do music with. I later saw the clips, I would tell you it was the worst moment of my life I saw Cannibalism, I saw wickedness, wouldn't even pray that my enemies experience such agony.

Sealed with a kiss! Robert Pattinson and Kristen Stewart caught in a passionate embrace that confirms they are REALLY back together

The look of love: Robert Pattinson and Kristen Stewart gaze adoringly at each other by her new pool in Los Feliz, LA.

Hello Friends!

The vampiric lovers were spotted canoodling by 22-year-old Kristen's pool at her new Los Feliz mansion on Wednesday; which as we reported, is just a stone's throw about from Rob's nest.
They could be seen laughing and cuddling each other before and after Kristen changed into a bikini and enjoyed a dip in her new blue lagoon.

In the pictures Robert, 26, looks particularly content and happy; it's the clearest sign yet that he's forgiven his partner for three years for her transgression with married director, Rupert Sanders.
You see all the exclusive images on PopSugar.

In one picture, Rob can be seen holding a mug and beaming like crazy at Kristen, who is wearing her bikini top and looks sodden from the pool.
To say he's pleased to see her would be an understatement, Rob has the look of man fixing a gaze upon the very apple of his eye.

The smiles are back on their faces: Robert and Kristen have sealed their reconciliation with a kiss.

In other pictures, Rob has given his snap-back cap to his girlfriend, who also wears it backwards... just like her man.
With Kristen in the cap, they can be seen kissing; both partner leaning in as much as the other in that rarest example of perfectly symmetrical body language.
In another they are pictured with their arms locked around each other from behind, not even a sliver of daylight has a chance of getting between the pair, they are literally inseparable.

Another particularly sweet shot has Rob waving his hands in the air as he animatedly speaks to his former live-in partner, perhaps recounting an anecdote.
And animal lovers who delight in a happy tail will be pleased to know that the couple's dog, Bear, is contentedly patting around their feet.

Hello Friends!

Tears and tributes flowed freely at King’s College, Lagos, on Wednesday as family and friends held a memorial service in honour of Ugochukwu Ozuah, a 36-year-old engineer who was allegedly killed by policemen five days after his wedding.

Ozuah, who graduated from King’s College in 1993, was once the Sports prefect of the school. Some of those present at the event were; members of the King’s College Old Boy’s Association, ex-colleagues of the deceased at University of Ado Ekiti and University of Lagos, where he was pursuing a Master’s degree in Operational Research; as well as the principal and current students of the college.

Ozuah’s Chelsea Football Club jersey, inscribed with the word, ‘Hugo 10’ was seen hanging from the ceiling of the auditorium while many wore a black T-shirt displaying the deceased’s picture.

The three sisters of the deceased, who read tributes, described their brother as a loving and kind person who was always willing to help those in need.
The eldest sister, Nkechi Nnonyelu, said in a written tribute that it was sad because she planned Ozuah’s wedding and just a month later, she was planning his burial.

The wife of the deceased, Joan, said in a written tribute that their five days of marriage were the best days of her life.
Joan said, “Sweets, so it is true that you are no more. I can’t believe that you have gone so soon. You were my husband, my brother, my friend and mentor. I can’t forget that fateful night of September 20, when the police shot you in the chest and left you to die in cold blood. It was like a dream when the doctor told us that you couldn’t make it.

Gospel Singer, GLORIA DOYLE Set To Remarry...How She Fell In Love With A Younger Man...

Gloria Doyle...

Hello Friends!

Gospel Singer, Gloria Doyle is one of the few female gospel singers who have made a name for themselves in Nigeria music industry. The 38 year old light-complexioned mother of 3 hit the limelight about 5 years ago but has been off the scene for about 2 years now.

The new thing about the Edo born singer is that she is getting married again 14 years after the crash of her first marriage. The light skinned beauty is set to wed her newly found younger lover, as the traditional wedding comes up in Edo State on December 19th 2012 , while the Court wedding and reception will hold in 2013.

Gloria who just returned from the U.S also noted that she is getting married to someone who is in the entertainment industry and he is 6 years younger.
In this chat with City People's Entertainment Editor, Afolabi Oyekoya she spoke on how her marriage crashed and how she fell in love 14 years after.

It came to our knowledge that you are planning on getting married again?

Yes you are right. I am getting married again in December and I am excited about it. It is going to be a low key wedding and it will take place on the 19th of December 2012. And in 2013 we shall be having the white wedding.

How exactly do you feel getting married again and what happened to your first marriage?

Hmmm! Well all I can tell you is that I feel so great to have finally met a man that appreciates and loves me whole heartedly. My first marriage crashed for different reasons. First is the issue of Tribalism because he is Ibo and I am from Edo State. Secondly, he couldn't cope with the fact that I wanted to be an Entertainer. A normal Ibo man would want his wife to remain at home and go to the market and take care of the kids. I got married at the age of 18 and had my first child at 20. By the time I was 24, the marriage was already experiencing trouble. I was really abused.

How do you mean you were abused?

He used to beat me and bring women to the house. I am from a polygamous family and I wanted my marriage to last. I tried to endure the marriage for so many years, but when I couldn't anymore I had to move on.
What I am telling you now I have never told anyone. I endured so much beatings all because I wanted my marriage to last. I tried to endure the marriage for so many years but when I couldn't anymore I had to move on.
When the issues of abuse wouldn't stop that was when my family intervened It was actually a life threatening issue. I had 3 kids for him, 2 boys and I girl.

Since you were young when your first marriage crashed, why did it take you so long to remarry?

I have been single for a while. It's been 14 years since my first marriage crashed. I met the person I want marry now about 2 years ago. He is also in the entertainment industry and he is a music video director, an instrumentalist and a producer. I met him during one of my rehearsals and right there, we just got along. That was it and after about 2 months, we started dating and now we are getting married. For some reasons I don't want to mention his name funnily enough he is younger than me by 6 years and he has never been married.

How did his family take it when they learnt you are older than him and divorcee with 3 kids?

You see marrying a younger person is not a big deal as far as I am concerned. What matters is the affection you have for each other, I have met with his parents and they are cool.
I respect him a lot and he respects me too. He is a very special and loving person. He is caring and supportive.

What's the attraction, considering the fact that you had many guys wanting to date you?

You see, any guy that wanted to date me I always put them on a test and they fail. I did the same with him and he passed.

Omotola Jalade-Ekeinde Arrives London All ‘Blacked Up’...

Hello Friends!

The colour Black may mean a lot of things to a lot of people but when it comes to women and fashion, it means just one thing, Elegance.

Actress, Omotola Jalade Ekeinde proved this when she arrived London, yesterday, for the premiere of the Christian Ashaiku produced movie, Amina where she played the role of a woman with mental disorder along side actors, Van Vicker, Will Johnson and Allison Caroll.

Omotola looked hot in an all black ensemble with bold sun shades to match.

Her black jacket sat comfortably on her pair of black leather pants and with a pair of black peep toes and a Hermes Birkin bag, she looked like a fierce lady ready to rock the night. The choice of orange for her nails added a pop of colour to the look and a little drama as the toes peep out of the shoes…

Jim Iyke Mourns With Jamaican Girlfriend, Keturah Hamilton...

Jim Iyke...

Hello Friends!

Nollywood bad boy Jim Iyke is often linked with scandal and controversy, but this time, the actor is in the news for a tragic reason.
We’re told Iyke is supporting his Jamaican girlfriend, Keturah Hamilton, after the Jamaican police allegedly killed two of her brothers, Sheldon and Nicholas McKenzie, on the same day.

Keturah shared her shock on a social network, saying; ‘I am aghast at the institutionalized killings of innocent civilians that seem to define the Jamaican police force, the wanton destruction of innocent live under the guise of trying to prevent crimes. How can you prevent crime when you are actively committing the same crime against people who should ordinarily depend on you for safety?’

Unconfirmed reports say the Jamaican police claimed to have heard gun shots coming from the apartment where Keturah’s brother resided. ‘They quickly proceeded to the building armed, and without making any announcement or proper investigation, they barged in and opened fire, killing the both of them’ one source said.

Uti Nwachukwu And Actress Beverly Naya In Sizzling Romance?

Uti Nwachukwu and Beverly Naya
Uti Nwachukwu and Beverly Naya on Jara...

Hello Friends!

It seems rumours that Big Brother Africa winner Uti Nwachukwu is gay can now take a back seat, as NET has gathered that the TV show host and ‘man about town’ may be in a secret relationship with actress Beverly Naya.

Although many people have tried to link Uti to some women before now, no one has ever been able to make it stick, which then spurred the gay rumours, especially because of his closeness to his pal Alex Ekubo.

The NET’s sources say the romance between Uti and Beverly has been going on for a while, and although they've been spotted at the same events a few times, both have done a fantastic job of keeping their relationship away from the public.

Professor Wole Soyinka
Professor Wole Soyinka...

Hello Friends!

The Nobel Laureate, Prof. Wole Soyinka, spoke this week at the Hay Festival in Mexico. In an extract from his talk, he tells Peter Godwin that now is the time to tackle militants in Nigeria

Professor Soyinka, you’re not an ivory-tower kind of writer. You are not a stranger to danger, and in fact you've been imprisoned on at least two occasions, once in solitary confinement. Can you tell me what that was like?

Writing in certain environments carries with it an occupational risk. When I was imprisoned, without trial, it was as a result of a position I took as a citizen. Of course I used my weapon, which was writing, to express my disapproval of the [Biafran] civil war into which we were about to enter. These were people who’d been abused, who’d undergone genocide, and who felt completely rejected by the rest of the community, and therefore decided to break away and form a nation of its own. Unfortunately, the nature of my imprisonment meant that I couldn’t practise my trade because I was in solitary confinement for 22 months out of the 27, and I was deprived of writing material. So I had to somehow break through the barriers, smuggle in toilet paper, cigarette paper, scribble a few poems, pass messages outside. I was able to undertake exercises to make sure that I emerged from prison intact mentally.

There have been high hopes for some African leaders after they were elected – Meles in Ethiopia, or Museveni in Uganda, or Kagame in Rwanda – but who then went to show a more authoritarian bent. Are you an Afro-optimist or an Afro-pessimist?

I’m an Afro-realist. I take what comes, and I do my best to affect what is unacceptable in society. I’ve remarked how similar in many ways Mexico is to Nigeria, and to a number of places: we have the same condition of unstructured, unpredictable violence, both from the state and from what I call the quasi-state. Whether the quasi-state is formed, as its basis, of theocratic tendencies, or secular ideological rigidity, you always have forces, even outside the state, competing for the domination of people. That’s what’s happening on the African continent today. That’s what’s been happening in the Arab states and what led eventually to the Arab Spring. Gradually people come to the recognition after decades of supine submission that they are not whole as human beings.

Your parents were Christians, Anglicans, I understand. How has your own religious belief evolved?

I consider myself very fortunate. I was raised in a Christian environment in Abeokuta, but another side of me was very much enmeshed in African values. I gravitated towards what I saw was a cohesive system of a certain relationship of human beings to environment, a respect for humanity in general. I came through a traditional system, where children not only had rights, but had responsibility. In the Western world today, especially in America, it seems to be forbidden for children to have responsibilities…

Aluu killings: Court remands 13 suspects in prison...

Suspects paraded at the Rivers State Police command.

Hello Friends!

The Magistrate’s Court sitting in Port Harcourt, Rivers State, on Wednesday remanded 13 suspects arrested in connection with the killing of four students of the University of Port Harcourt.

The accused persons were allegedly part of a mob that tortured the four undergraduates to death in Omuokiri Aluu in Ikwerre Local Government Area of Rivers State.
The suspects, who were escorted by security agents, were driven into the court premises about 9.45am in a Toyota Hiace bus with number plate FG 120 F50.

The suspects were in handcuffs and chains as they appeared in court on five counts of conspiracy and murder. Presiding Magistrate, Emmanuel Woke, however, said the court did not have the jurisdiction to hear the matter. Woke immediately announced the transfer of the case to the Department of Public Prosecution for legal advice and subsequent arraignment in a High Court.

The magistrate also said the suspects should seek bail from the high court.
A Chief Superintendent of Police, Mr. Henry Njoku, stood as counsel for the prosecution while Mr. A.A. Finebone was the counsel for the first accused and village head of Aluu, Alhaji Hassan Walewa.

I didn’t go abroad for cosmetic surgery – Patience

Patience Jonathan

Hello Friends!

Wife of President Goodluck Jonathan, Dame Patience, returned to the country on Wednesday after spending about seven weeks abroad.
Mrs. Jonathan arrived at the Nnamdi Azikiwe International Airport, Abuja from a foreign country widely believed to be Germany. She returned in one of the aircraft in the Presidential Fleet

As soon as she alighted from the aircraft, she denied media reports that she went abroad for cosmetic surgery. She also denied being an in-patient in a German hospital on account of a terminal disease, adding that her husband loved her physique.
She said, “I read in the media where they said I was in the hospital. God Almighty knows I have never been to that hospital. I don’t even know the hospital they mentioned.

“I have to explain what God has done for me. I do not have terminal illness, or (went for) any cosmetic surgery, more or less tummy tuck. “My husband loves me as I am and I am pleased with how God created me.”

Abdominoplasty or tummy tuck is a cosmetic surgical procedure that is used to make the abdomen more firm. Wikipedia says it “involves the removal of excess skin and fat from the middle and lower abdomen in order to tighten the muscle and fascia of the abdominal wall.”

Mrs. Jonathan arrived at the Nnamdi Azikiwe International Airport, Abuja a few minutes before 4pm in a presidential aircraft. She was dressed in a multi-colour boubou with a matching headgear and appeared to have lost weight. She was received by family members and friends amidst singing and drumming by women, masqueraders and cultural groups in different uniforms.
The wife of the President, whose dressing was devoid of the usual heavy jewellery, said that the prayers of Nigerians sustained her during what she called her “period of trial”.

The most inspiring CoverGirl ever? Make-up blogger, 13, fighting two types of cancer becomes honorary face of beauty giant...

CoverGirl
Cover Girl.

Hello Friends!

My Thoughts: This Is Simply making use of 'Life' as one has it for the moment. This is very inspirational...

A 13-year-old cancer sufferer, who became a YouTube star thanks to her inspired make-up video tutorials, has become an honorary face of CoverGirl.

Talia Joy Castellano was thrilled to learn the news last month during an interview with Ellen Degeneres, and today, the beauty giant released a campaign-style image bearing her face.

The teenager, who developed an interest in make-up six years ago, when she was first diagnosed with neuroblastoma, has attracted over 14million viewers to her video blog.
This summer, however, Talia uploaded a post announcing she now has 'neuroblastoma and leukemia at the same time'.
Although she says 'the chances of surviving are fewer than surviving,' she will continue her videos 'for as long as I can.'

Despite the harrowing diagnosis, Talia was bursting with positivity and energy when she appeared on Ms DeGeneres' show.
Clearly in awe of the host and the standing ovation she was greeted with, her eyes welled up at the beginning.

'I'm shaking I love you so much!' she admitted.

Talia Joy Castellano
Mutual admiration: The teenager, who developed an interest in make-up six years ago, when she was first diagnosed with neuroblastoma, was as in awe of Ellen as the host was of her.

In awe: Talia had no idea Ellen would surprise her with her very own CoverGirl poster
In awe: Talia had no idea Ellen would surprise her with her very own Cover Girl poster.

Indeed, when asked how she stays so positive, Talia quoted a line Ms Degeneres said in her role as Dory in Finding Nemo.
'When people ask me that, what do you want me to do, be depressed?' she said. 'I mean a little fishy told me, "Just keep swimming, just keep swimming!"'

Of course, the admiration was mutual, and Ms Degeneres, in turn could not praise Talia enough.
'I'll keep telling you that too,' she replied. 'I'm so glad that a fish told you that.

Parents protest unwarranted killings

The Students killed at Aluu

Hello Friends!

Some concerned parents, under the aegis of Nigerian Youths Must Live, have called on the government to take decisive steps to halt unwarranted killings in the country.
The group said it was outraged by the killings of four students of the University of Port Harcourt in Aluu, Rivers State, and other unresolved killings.

NYML lamented that the trend had compromised the safety and well-being of youths in the country.

When on Monday the group met in Lagos, there was an outpouring of emotions as speakers roundly condemned the trend and asked the Federal Government to rise to the challenges of insecurity and other vices in the land. Convener of the group, Mrs. Roli Craig, said the NYML was formed as an advocacy group to compel the government to address the problems in the land.

Craig, a lawyer, said parents had resolved that they would no longer take excuses from the government for “senseless killings” in Nigeria.
She said, “You will recall that in recent times, young female students returning from their schools were raped. Many more were killed in school while most recently in Port Harcourt, four young undergraduates were murdered in the most barbaric and savagery manner.

“Prior to these events, were the senseless killings of youth corps members while serving their fatherland in the aftermath of the 2011 presidential election in some parts of the country.
“Most of us who are parents today, attended higher institutions far away from home and served as corps members in different cultures. We were cared for and protected by the government and our host communities.”

The police on Tuesday announced a major breakthrough in their investigation into the lynching of four University of Port Harcourt students. The videotaped lynching of the students sparked outrage nationwide and the clip of the killings went viral on the Internet.

The IG disclosed the arrest during a security meeting with Chief Executive Officers and security officers of banks at the Force Headquarters, Abuja.

“I want to announce that we have made a breakthrough in the Aluu killings. The two main suspects in the case have been arrested and they will be prosecuted,” he said. The arrest brings the number of suspects arrested by the police to 23.

The students were set upon by a mob in Aluu, a community close to the university, and lynched. They were later identified as 19-year-old Lloyd Toku ( 200 level Civil Engineering); 18-year-old Ugonna Obuzor (200 level Geology student); 20-year-old Chiadika Biringa, (200 level Theatre Arts student); and Tekena Erikena, a 20-year-old a diploma (Technical) student by the management of the university.

Lucky, who was said to owe one of the students an undisclosed sum of money, reportedly raised the alarm that the students were robbers when they went to his house to demand for the money. The mob, which converged on the venue of the altercation, then beat and burn the students to death.

While the IGP was speaking in Abuja, the Rivers State Police Command was parading some of the suspects. The State Police Commissioner, Mr. Mohammed Ndabawa, gave the names of the suspects as Segun Lawal, Felemo Solomon, Cynthia Chinwo, Ozioma Abajuo, Ikechukwu Louis and Chigozie Samuel Evans. He accused the suspects of playing major roles in the killings.
