Leave it to her mother to be the first person to defend Kim Kardashian against internet trolls.

A furious Kris Jenner took to her Facebook page on Thursday, defending her daughter against disparaging comments made on Twitter on New Year's Day.

The fiasco began when Kim, who recently announced her pregnancy with boyfriend Kanye West, posted photographs of herself partying with friends in Las Vegas on New Year's Eve.

Commenters turned on the reality star, leaving thousands of cruel remarks.

Many of the social networking site users made statements about the 32-year-old socialite’s weight and criticized her for being in a club while pregnant.

One user labelled her ‘no fit mother’ while another called her ‘fat’, adding ‘lose some weight’.

She was also described as being ‘busted and old news’ and accused of being ‘f****** up’ to her baby.

Kris, who was with her daughter that night, launched a counter attack on Wednesday, starting with a tweet she reposted on her Facebook page.

The statement read: 'Kim Kardashian is 32 & she's pregnant, but y'all hoes be 16 with 4 kids and no baby daddy.. & y'all calling her a slut? PLEASE, have a seat.'

Over a 100,000 Kardashian fans liked the comment, and hundreds commented their approval beneath. Kris later explained that while she didn't originally write the tweet, she shared the sentiments.

Kris then responded with two posts on Thursday, clarifying the origin of the wild remark.

She continued: 'Ugh!! I'm not like that... and... Never thought I would do such a big impact with it!' But Kris, who was photographed throughout the night with Kim and Kanye, didn't shy away from making her own statement.

Singer Ke$ha (stylized version of Kesha) was hit by a backlash this week to her song “Die Young” with numerous radio stations pulling it from playlists because it contains lyrics that were deemed too insensitive in the wake of the Friday murders at the Sandy Hook Elementary School shooting in Connecticut.

“i [gic] understand. I had my very own issue with ‘die young’ [gic] for this reason,” Ke$ha wrote on Twitter on Tuesday { 18th December 2012} evening and emphasized several words with all capital letters. “I did NOT want to sing those lyrics and [gic] I was FORCED TO.”

The tweet was deleted soon after.

An RCA Records representative had not returned a request for comment by Billboard Magazine at press time, and the publication stated that representatives for Ke$ha declined to comment.

Ke$ha has a writing credit on the song with the band Fun.’s Nate Reuss and producers Dr. Luke, Cirkut and Benny Blanco.

These comments by Ke$ha show that at the very least she does not have much control over the songs she sings even if she is credited as a songwriter. How much of the writing does she actually do?

Generator fumes kill 80-year-old woman, four grandchildren...

Sorrow and sadness on Thursday enveloped Robiyan, near Ijoko in Ifo Local Government, Ogun State as residents discovered the lifeless bodies of an 80 year-old woman, identified as Madam Kuburat, and her four grandchildren, including a toddler in a newly completed house.

Five other people who slept in the house were in critical conditions at two general hospitals as doctors battle to save their lives.

Although there were different accounts of what could have caused their death, the Divisional Police Officer of Agbado Police Station, Mr. Okere Daniel, suspected it could be fumes from a generator.

The DPO said, “From the physical examination of the victims, it is obvious that they must have died of carbon monoxide, all foaming from the mouth; this means that they must be gasping (for breath).

“A similar thing happened at Obadofin in 2010, when I was a DPO at Alafia. A whole family was wiped off. It was during a festive period like this; they put on the generator and locked it up inside the house for use overnight.”

It was learnt that the generator which was placed in the veranda of the house must have worked overnight while the doors and windows were locked.

Whitney Houston was murdered by drug dealers and a new surveillance video proves it, Hollywood private investigator Paul Huebl is claiming.

Huebl said to Daily Mail this week that he has turned over evidence to the FBI that shows the 48-year-old singer was killed over a drug debt in February.

The Los Angeles County medical examiner ruled that she drowned in her bathtub at the Beverly Hilton hotel after taking a cocktail of cocaine, marijuana and several legal drugs.

The National Enquirer is reporting that Huebl believes Houston was targeted by several “high powered drug dealers who sent thugs to collect a huge debt she owed for drugs.”

She owed over $1.5million to dealers, according to some reports.

However, Huebl told Daily Mail that he does not know for certain that Houston was killed – only that evidence he collected could point in that direction.

He says that she received a delivery of cocaine to her room the day before her death and could be heard saying in the video, “I’m tired of this sh*t.”

Huebl says that Houston had previously been harassed by drug dealers trying to collect on her debt.

PDP youth group blasts Jonathan over 2015 posters

Youth wing of the Peoples Democratic Party has asked President Goodluck Jonathan to resign if he is bereft of ideas instead of denying sponsorship of posters for his second term, which surfaced in Abuja on New Year’s day.

The group, in an electronic mail on Thursday, said since the the President assumed office, he had not shown any competence to solve the several problems bedevilling the nation.

The statement was signed by its Publicity Director, Comrade Bala Usman, and its National Director, Mr. Fidelis Uzoka.

Jonathan’s 2015 posters were seen in several places including the Peoples Democratic Party headquarters in Abuja on Tuesday.

Though Jonathan has denied being behind the posters, opposition political parties and groups have continued to doubt the President’s claim.

The statement was entitled, ‘What will Jonathan gain by digging the grave of our great party, the PDP?’ and ‘Resign if you have run out of luck and ideas’.

The group said the time had come to save the PDP from the President.

Korean owners of the Hyndai Heavy Industries paid N30m to the kidnappers of four of their workers at the company in Okpoama, Brass Local Government, Bayelsa State, it has been confirmed.

Eight gunmen on December 17, 2012 raided the firm and kidnapped Jong Ken, Hi Kim, Doo Lee, Joon Chae and a Nigerian, Austin Giwa.

The victims were, however, released four days later at Azikoro Village in Yenagoa with the management of the company claiming that no ransom was paid for their release.

However, our correspondent learnt that the company paid some money to secure the release of the victims, who spent about five days in the kidnappers’ den.

It was also contrary to the statements by the victims that the kidnappers branded them “bad market” and set them free, despite initially demanding N200m for their freedom.

Commissioner of Police in the state, Mr. Kingsley Omire, confirmed in Yenagoa on Thursday that the firm paid the ransom to the kidnappers but without consulting the police.

The CP said after arresting the suspects linked to the incident, the police discovered that the firm had bowed to pressure from the hoodlums and parted with N30m.

The Lagos State Police Command has rearrested a 40-year-old pastor, Alasco Sobowale, for allegedly raping a 12-year-old girl in Epe area of the state.

Police authorities said the suspect, who is a pastor at Okiki Imole Church, Epe, was rearrested on Thursday at his home located at 10, Togodo Street, Temu Town.

The police had arrested Sobowale on December 21, 2012, for allegedly raping the minor but was later released on bail because courts were not in session.

However, after Simply Cheska's Blog via PUNCH Metro published the story on Thursday, the policemen attached to Epe Division stormed his home and rearrested him.

A police source, who craved anonymity, said, “The pastor should never have been released in the first place and the police high command is very much interested. If Sobowale was released because courts were not in session, why were all other suspects in police custody not granted bail as well?

“Rape is a very serious offence and we will make sure that he is prosecuted. After the publication, many members of the community, including elders, rose against the pastor and promised to make sure that the case was pursued to a logical conclusion.”

The Sun reported on Wednesday that Newcastle manager Alan Pardew is keen on the frontman as a replacement for Demba Ba who is likely to join Chelsea.

Fire could have killed me –Obasanjo...

Former President Olusegun Obasanjo on Wednesday said providence saved him from the fire which recently burnt a part of his Hilltop Mansion in Abeokuta, Ogun State.

If the fire which consumed his secretary’s office had occurred during the night, the former President said he would have been suffocated by fumes from the inferno.

He spoke when the executive members of the Lagos State chapter of the Peoples Democratic Party visited him in Abeokuta.

According to him, the smoke from the fire, which enveloped his bedroom, was enough to kill any living being.

He said, “The fire, which occurred in the office of my private secretary, resulted in thick smoke which pervaded my bedroom. If it had happened at night, I would have been a dead person.”

Obasanjo, who thanked God for sparing his life to witness the New Year, said since the incident, he had continued to receive calls from within and outside the country.

He said, “I want to thank you all who called me on the telephone, both within and outside the country. Let us appreciate the mercy and kindness of God. There were many of us who started last year, but are no more today. We are not mocking them but extolling God.

Demba Ba completes Chelsea move

Senagalese international Demba Ba has completed his move to Chelsea from Newcastle.

The Blues agreed a fee with Newcastle for Ba after making an official bid on Wednesday.

Ba has a release clause, understood to be £7.5m, which was triggered by the European champions.

A statement on Newcastle’s website on Wednesday read: “Newcastle United can confirm that Chelsea Football Club has made an official offer for Demba Ba which has triggered the release clause in the player’s contract. The club has given the player permission to speak to Chelsea and therefore he will not be included in the squad for tonight’s (Wednesday’s) game against Everton.”

As at 9pm on Wednesday, the London club had finalised the discussion on personal terms with the player.

Preliminary discussions between representatives of the player and Chelsea had earlier broken up with the deal on the table nowhere near the Senegal international’s expectations. Ba’s representatives indicated that the striker did not expect to end up in west London come the end of the January transfer window following the failed talks.

A pastor, Alasco Sobowale, has been accused of raping a 12-year-old girl (name withheld) in Epe, Lagos State. The pastor was said to have allegedly had carnal knowledge of the girl at their home located at 10, Togodo Street, Temu Town.

The victim’s aunt, Mrs. Ngozi Anjorin, told PUNCH Metro that the incident occurred on December 15, 2012.

Anjorin said the victim only spoke Igbo Language and had recently arrived Lagos from Imo State.

She said Sobowale, who also speaks Igbo, allegedly lured her niece to the toilet around 9pm and had sex with her.

She said, “My niece was sent to Lagos about two weeks before the incident so I could send her to school because she doesn’t speak English Language. She only speaks Igbo and only I and the pastor, who is our neighbour, speak Igbo.

“On that particular night, my children were in the room watching television but I couldn’t find my niece. I kept on shouting her name but I got no answer. I then proceeded to the toilet which is detached from the building. I knocked on the door of the toilet and the pastor immediately ran out and I saw her inside the toilet.

“When I inquired of her what she was doing inside the toilet with the pastor, she said he lured her into the toilet and covered her mouth with his palm so she wouldn’t scream. She said the pastor brought out his penis and forced it into her anus. She said he also put his penis in her vagina and when she discharged a particular fluid, he used a handkerchief to scoop it.”

Anjorin said Sobowale, who lives with his wife and children in the same compound, fled after the incident.

In Kaduna yesterday, there was a condition that Laure pay back the dowry she collected.

Alicia Atkins of Glendale, Arizona gave birth to daughter, Nevaeh, via Caesarean section on October 9. Her husband Randy snapped this touching image of a baby entering the world for the first time and grabbing hold of the doctor’s fingers.

'The doctor called me over and said, "Hey, she's grabbing my finger,"' Randy told 3TV News. 'So I ran over there and just grabbed the shot and I was just in awe looking at it. It was such an amazing picture.'

Kim, who was make-up free, kept her face covered with a pair of large shades and wore her hair partially tied back.

Shortly after announcing that she and boyfriend Kanye West are expecting their first child, Kim told E! News that being with child is 'not fun' and that she is suffering from 'growing pains'.

Kim, who reportedly earned herself $300,000 when she managed to fulfil her business obligations by hosting a party in Las Vegas on New Year's Eve, added that although she and Kanye, 35, do not know the sex of the baby yet, they are planning on finding out as soon as they can, according to TMZ.

Kim said: 'I take lots of naps. Actually I feel really good. This New Year is just about being happy and healthy and that’s what I plan on doing.

Welcome to a most rewarding year....I miss having everyone around....But I am so grateful for the gift of Life and Health....

How was your holidays? Mine was so quiet but really peaceful and mind opening.

I know that most people have been scribbling down what is commonly referred to as "New Year Resolutions?" Laughing..... What a joke!

I call it a joke because the moment you tie yourself to those "I shall do this and that and stop doing this and that", you kind of limit yourself.

Let me explain....

Personally, I write down Plans {Not dos and don'ts} and Prayer points of what I want to see happen in my life...These are what I desire to see and I ensure my everyday living for that year is channeled towards these goals.

It is quiet different from I will not do this no more or I shall start doing this etc. By these statements, you put your power and strength to play { It is never possible by your strength alone} We need a greater force...God.

So, this year, tell God what you want from 2013 and work towards those desires prayerfully...You will see that your steps shall always be guided and on target towards achievement.

Let your Resolutions become Re dedication to seeing your life change, not by your own limited power but by God's limitless power and strength...
