So where is this five million story coming from. First we heard of the five million naira you supposedly borrowed Mr Rotimi ajanaku who refused to pay and now we hear another five million that is sex related. What is going on?

....I wish I knew.

The bizarre set of talons features the famous picture taken of the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge for their engagement. 

It means Kate fans no longer need to imitate her look, but can simply have ten images of the stylish 30-year-old and her Prince decorating their hands.

The statement-making designs were being sold exclusively at Westminster souvenir shops, but are now gaining a cult following online.

One impressed Pinterest user posted the picture on the sharing website with the slightly sheepish caption: 'not gonna lie...i would do this.'

It is unlikely she would be alone, as Jubilee-mad shoppers have snapped up increasingly strange merchandise to celebrate the 60th year of the Queen's reign.

The manicure is just the latest crazy addition to an increasingly strange series of fake-nail looks, which have found popularity following the obsession for all things glitzy led by the stars of reality TV show The Only Way Is Essex.

Katy Perry was recently seen out in a ying-yang Kimmie Kees manicure, and last year pricey snakeskin nails became a hit.

The Kate and Wills nails have now found their way on to a website for bridal nails, alongside gold-encrusted, diamond and lace-effect manicures.

But whether any bride has been brave enough to go for Royal Wedding nails on her own big day is yet to be seen.

In this no holds bare interview, the only Nigerian based musician ever to be nominated thrice at the Grammy opened up on the day to day challenges of sustaining the legacies left behind by his late father. He also speaks on his relationship with women and how he was able to overcome the pains of separating from his ex-wife Funke. Excerpts:

What does fifty years mean to you; people say as a golden jubilee, it is supposed to make a man wiser?
Nothing, but I believe I’m wiser and more experienced in age and life but I’m indifferent towards it. Pertaining to celebration, some people are making it look like a glorious day because they appreciate my works, but to me, its just another day that will pass.

Regarding your career, can we talk about the high points of it?
There are so many of it. My first hit was ‘’Wonder-Wonder’’ which won a lot of awards in Nigeria. I was the first Nigerian to win ‘’KORA Award, ‘’World-Music Award and some others. I believe I was the most appreciated Nigerian at the Grammy award even though I haven’t won any yet. I have been nominated for a good number of awards too. I’ve toured extensively all around the world. I’m definitely in ‘the fore front of Afro-beat. The period when ‘’Bang-Bang-Bang’’ became an international hit, it opened so many doors especially to the new generations who did not know my father; they were now able to relate me and my works to him.

Even regarding sales too?
Well, I can’t really say that about sales because it has dropped for everybody. One who used to have a sale of twenty million then should be happy and grateful if he can have a sale of two million now.

How about the low points?
That would include bad press, especially from some particular National newspapers. Once I was called and asked where I was in France, it was rumoured that I was running around the ‘’Eiffel Tower’’ naked. I didn’t bother to call them to clear the air; I think my sister (Funke) did. Also, my crashed marriage was as a result of the same bad press. I decided to keep quiet about it for the sake of my son but they fueled it by exaggerating the story.

The singer, 30, posted a passage on her official Tumblr from Rebecca Solnit's 2005 novel, A Field Guide to Getting Lost.

The excerpt focuses on the significance of the colour blue, beginning: ‘The world is blue at its edges and in its depths.’

And the final sentence Beyoncé posted seems to summarise the power of the colour as it reads: ‘The light that gets lost, gives us the beauty of the world, so much of which is in the color blue.’

A picture of the descriptive words sits on the star’s website above an image of her resting her hand, which is decorated with teal nail varnish, against her cheek.

Blue Ivy was born on January 7 and ever since fans of Beyoncé and Jay-Z have been speculating the symbolism behind the unusual name.

Some have thought it may not be a coincidence that Jay-Z has released three Blueprint albums in the last ten years.

Ooh la la: Beyonce and Jay-Z were spotted out and about in Paris recently.

Meanwhile it is widely believed that the name Ivy is intended to reference the Roman numeral IV, as the number four bears lots of significance for the power couple.

We Will Fly Again —Dana Director

A director with Dana Air, the air carrier that crashed on 3 June in Lagos, southwest Nigeria, killing more than 150 people, has said that the airline will fly again when investigation is completed.

Gautam Hathiramani, a member of the airline’s board of directors, told the Associated Press in an interview that the carrier has complete faith in its five remaining MD-83s as airlines across the world still fly them.

“We have no hesitation to fly them again because we’ve always had them fully serviced and they’re certified airworthy before they go up in the air,” Hathiramani was quoted to have said.

“The MD-83s in its fleet are all more than 20 years old, an age not unusual among airlines, though planes often require more maintenance and attention the older they become,” the AP reported.

“It’s a tried-and-tested model and it was the right size and configuration for the market,” Hathiramani told AP.

Meanwhile, the airline said most of the relatives of the crashed plane are yet to come forward for identification and for compensation procedures to start.

The airline also said that it is visiting the displaced and focusing on how to compensate the families of the deceased.

There are, however, indications that there were not 153 passengers and crew members on board the plane as the airline has refused to release the post-flight manifest.

Only the pre-flight manifest was released by the airline with 152 names on it.

“It has to come through some procedures,” a consultant for the airline told our correspondent recently.

Efforts to know the exact number onboard the crashed plane have not yielded any result.

China sends first woman astronaut into space

Beijing – (AFP) – China on Saturday launched its most ambitious space mission to date, sending its first female astronaut into orbit and bidding to achieve the country’s first manual space docking.

Shenzhou-9 — China’s fourth manned space mission — blasted off on schedule at 6:37 pm (1037 GMT) from the remote Gobi desert in the nation’s northwest, state television pictures showed.

Chang Wanquan, commander-in-chief of China’s manned space programme, said the craft had entered orbit, and declared the launch a “complete success”.

The crew was headed by Jing Haipeng, a veteran astronaut who had gone to space twice already. Liu Wang, who has been in the space programme for 14 years, will be in charge of manual docking manoeuvres.

Meanwhile Liu Yang, 33, who has created a stir in the media and online for becoming China’s first woman to travel to space, will conduct aerospace medical experiments and other space tests.

In a nod to the symbolic significance of Liu’s presence, one of the country’s most senior female leaders, State Councillor Liu Yandong, read a message of congratulation from President Hu Jintao from the launch site.

“I would like to extend warm congratulations and sincere regards to all those participating,” said Hu, adding the docking operation would mark a “major breakthrough in the country’s manned space programme”.

The mission will last 13 days, during which the crew will perform experiments and the manual space docking — a highly technical procedure that brings two vessels together in high speed orbit.

Successful completion of the rendezvous between the Shenzhou-9 (“Divine Vessel”) and the Tiangong-1 (“Heavenly Palace”) module already in orbit will take China a step closer to setting up its own space station in 2020.

The Asian powerhouse achieved a similar docking in November last year, but that mission was unmanned and the procedure was conducted remotely from Earth.

“The manual space rendezvous… is a huge test for astronauts’ ability to judge spatial position, eye-hand coordination and psychological abilities,” Jing told reporters ahead of the launch.

He added that the trio would work well together after months of intense training that saw them rehearse the mission some 16 hours a day.

“One glance, one facial expression, one movement… we understand each other thoroughly,” he said.

The team have rehearsed the procedure more than 1,500 times in simulations, Wu Ping, spokeswoman for China’s manned space programme, told reporters.

But more than the upcoming challenge, it is the inclusion in the crew of Liu Yang — a trained pilot and major in the People’s Liberation Army who began astronaut training two years ago — that has captivated China’s people.

China sent its first person into space in 2003 and has since conducted several manned missions, the latest in 2008, but had never yet included a woman.

Liu’s mission made China the third country after the Soviet Union and United States to send a woman into space using its own technology.

China sees its space programme as a symbol of its global stature, growing technical expertise, and the Communist Party’s success in turning around the fortunes of the once poverty-stricken nation.

An editorial in the state-run Global Times newspaper on Saturday said that China needed to “cement its strategic gains made during the years,” which called for “a stronger presence in outer space”.

“The three astronauts aboard Shenzhou-9 personify China’s long-term space aspirations,” it added.

A white paper released last December outlined China’s long-term ambitions to “conduct studies on the preliminary plan for a human lunar landing”.

The current programme aims to provide China with a space station in which a crew can live independently for several months, as at the old Russian Mir facility or the International Space Station.

Float like a butterfly: Muhammad Ali is the new star of Louis Vuitton's Core Values ad campaign

With a face full of determination and boxing gloves in place, Muhammad Ali's grandson looks remarkably familiar.

C.J., the four-year-old son of the world champion boxer's daughter Laila Ali, has starred alongside his grandfather in Louis Vuitton's new Core Values campaign.

Photographed by Annie Leibovitz, Muhammad Ali has been named as the new face of the campaign and had his mini-me join him in the shoot.

The tagline reads: 'Some stars show you the way. Muhammad Ali and a rising star. Phoenix, Arizona.'
The pair were photographed at the sporting legend's home in the U.S.

The little boy is obviously taking after his grandfather, whose fighting motto was 'float like a butterfly and sting like a bee' due to his almost balletic grace in the ring.

Last year's Core Values campaign star was Angelina Jolie who was photographed in Cambodia - the country from which she adopted her son Maddox after filming Lara Croft Tomb Raider 12 years ago.

Vigilante group arrests two over possession of human skull

The vigilante group of Araromi community in Ijumu Local Government Area of Kogi state has handed over two persons caught with human skull to the police for prosecution.

Saturday Vanguard gathered that the neighbours of the two persons whose name were given as Muri and Joshua became suspicious of the duo after their sudden flamboyant way of life which prompted them to launch a complaint to the head of the community.

The community head, it was gathered detailed some members of the vigilante group to monitor the movements the two friends to ascertain the truth behind the allegation of their neighbours.

Few weeks after, luck ran out of Muri and Joshua as the vigilante group followed the duo to the village burial ground where the two were nabbed while exhuming a corpse from the grave yard.

The vigilante subsequently arrested the duo and led them to the village head where they confessed to the crime and hinted that one Prophet Samuel from the village has been buying human skulls from them for N40,000.00 each.

The village head subsequently handed over the suspects to the police who have since resumed investigations on the matter and will soon charge the suspects to court, confirmed the state police spokesman, Ajayi Akansanmi.

Pastor, 4 others arrested for child trafficking

A Pastor (names with held) and four others have been apprehended for questioning by the Benue State Police Command for child trafficking. Saturday Vanguard gathered from a reliable police source that three of the suspects were arrested in Kano while two others were nabbed in Makurdi.

According to our source, 19 year old Aladi Abbah who resides at Ugbokolo in Okpokwu local government area of Benue State, was few days ago allegedly persuaded by her female neighbour (name withheld) to sell off her 8 month- old baby in order to raise funds to better her lot.

 

”After intense persuasion and being a single parent, she succumbed and the both of them took the 8 month old baby to Kano where they found a buyer who paid N200,000 for the baby.

”After selling the baby, the duo returned to Makurdi where minor disagreements ensued between the two over the sharing formula of the proceed of the sales.

”But it was not until the mother of the sold baby traveled back to the village at Ugbokolo and was confronted by her aged father who enquired about the where-about of his grand child that the truth of the matter was made public”, he said.
According to our source, on enquiring about the whereabout of their grand child, the mother informed her parents that she lost the child in Kano where she had attended a crusade.

But not impressed with her explanations, her aged parents alerted the police who apprehended her and after undergoing interrogations, she opened up and this led to the arrest of her accomplice.

”The suspects were brought to the Command Headquaters in Makurdi on the orders of the Commissioner of Police, Mr. Christopher Katso and after further interrogation, the duo confessed to the Police that the baby was sold to a woman in Kano.

”At this point, the Commissioner of Police directed his men to move to Kano to effect the arrest of the buyer. But surprisingly, the police got to Kano and discovered that the original buyer of the baby sold her out to another buyer who eventually sold her to a female pastor resident in Kano”, he stressed.

Paralysed killer, who was wheeled into court in hospital bed, is jailed for ‘pitiless’ double murder of ex-wife and mother-in-law

Paralysed Sergei Zolotovsky, who made legal history by appearing in court in a hospital bed, was found guilty of a double murder.

A double murderer who appeared in court in a hospital bed was sentenced to life in prison today for the 'pitiless' killing of his ex-wife and mother-in-law.

Sergei Zolotovsky, 44, was told he will serve at least 30 years in prison for killing Svetlana Zolotovska, 40, and her mother Antonina Belska, 70.

He attacked Ms Zolotovska as she walked to work in Beckton Park, east London, in August 2010, stabbing her and then cutting her throat.

The Russian-born welder was furious over a financial settlement that had been made as part of their acrimonious divorce two days before.

Zolotovsky then went to their former marital home in Newham, east London, and stabbed Mrs Belska, 70, before trying to set fire to the house and cutting his wrists and throat.

Passing sentence today, Judge Stephen Kramer QC said: 'In your view your ex-wife was a sinner, indeed you wrote a note calling her a sinner. In your opinion she had taken everything and left you with nothing.

'The attack on your ex-wife was pitiless. I’m satisfied that you were prepared to use extreme violence to get your revenge.

'You inflicted savage injuries on her in anger by stabbing and slashing her with the knife you had bought for the purpose.

'Not content with doing that, you then ran to Leamouth Road and finding Antonina Belska there, you killed her too.'

Twelve days after the murders, Zolotovsky tried to commit suicide by throwing himself from a prison landing and was paralysed from the waist down. 

This meant that, in what is thought to be a legal first, he was allowed to appear at the Old Bailey in a hospital bed.

A jury took just over half an hour to convict him of the double murder in March.
Today, prosecutor Zoe Johnson QC read a victim impact statement from Ms Zolotovska’s brother and Mrs Belska’s son Cheslav Belsky.

He said the family had suffered 'indescribable grief' when they heard their relatives had been murdered 'in the most horrific and merciless way'.

'I don’t know how I can describe my feelings accurately. I can only say they were feelings of abject horror, numbing shock and complete disbelief at such brutal and barbaric murders,' the statement added.
'My father was completely destroyed by the news, he became entirely overcome by shock, stress and grief.

'The cruel and merciless murder at the hands of the former husband extinguished the lives of our loved ones, our precious and closest relatives. Nobody and nothing will possibly return them to us.'

In mitigation, the court heard that Zolotovsky was angered that he was ordered to sign the marital home over to his ex-wife, whom he wrongly believed had been unfaithful.
Zolotovsky lay in his bed in the well of the court flanked by a nurse and an interpreter, showing little visible emotion.

Charles Bott QC, defending, said: 'This was clearly a grotesque episode of destructive behaviour which had a specific and, as we saw in the trial, a clearly identifiable cause.
'What he could not live with was his own sense of injustice at the outcome of a court hearing two days before these offences.

'What he has done for lamentable reasons is to destroy three lives, including his own.'

First Briton To Have A Sex Change, awarded an MBE for Services to The Transgender Equality?

Born plain George Jamieson, he became the first Briton to have a sex change and sparked countless lurid headlines.

But today actress and campaigner Miss April Ashley is appointed an MBE for services to transgender equality.

The award marks the latest chapter in the sensational life of the 77-year-old, a veteran of numerous sex scandals.

In her glamorous heyday she became a Vogue model, seduced actors Omar Sharif and Peter O’Toole and attracted the amorous attentions of Salvador Dali and Pablo Picasso.

But her world came crashing down in the Sixties when a ‘friend’ sold her story to a newspaper and intimate details of how she had been turned from a man into a woman under a surgeon’s knife caused a sensation.

She bounced back, marrying an aristocrat but that only led to more astonishing revelations.

April was born into a seafaring Liverpudlian family in 1935 and says she knew from the age of three there was something ‘different’ about her.

Dark, slightly built and effeminate, the young George became the victim of daily beatings at school. At 15, in a vain attempt to become masculine, he signed up for the merchant navy but after two years at sea – once more a magnet for bullies – he resolved to commit suicide. A failed attempt saw him ‘dishonourably discharged’ and after two further attempts he was locked up in a mental institution.

Eventually allowed out, George headed for London – once sharing a boarding house with former deputy prime minister Lord Prescott – where he began cross-dressing. 

He moved to Paris in 1955, calling himself Toni and working as a hostess at Le Carousel, a drag club, where he mingled with a set that included Ernest Hemingway, Jean Paul Sartre and Bob Hope.

In 1960, at the age of 25 and having saved £3,000, he travelled to Casablanca and was introduced to Moroccan surgeon Doctor Burou, known as The Wizard of Casablanca, who had carried out eight previous sex change ops.

Transformation: George Jamieson as a teenager, and right, as the sultry April Ashley, who went on to become a leading model.

The procedure lasted seven hours, and afterwards she returned to London, where her striking looks soon led to a modelling assignment for Vogue, shot by David Bailey, and to a minor role in the Bob Hope and Bing Crosby film The Road To Hong Kong.

But success came abruptly to an end in 1961 when a friend sold her story to the Sunday People, published under the headline: The Extraordinary Case Of Top Model April Ashley – Her Secret Is Out.

She became a celebrity ‘freak’ but her notoriety didn’t stop her marrying into the aristocracy. In 1963 she wed Arthur Corbett, the Eton-educated son and heir of Lord Rowallan.

When they met Corbett was already married with four children and had a penchant for dressing up as a woman himself.

He eventually left his wife and April moved into the highest echelons of British society before the marriage collapsed.

She once again hit the headlines after Corbett petitioned for divorce in 1969.

It became one of the most talked about events of the decade with details of the case exploding over the newspapers.

The couple faced each other in the courtroom, with Corbett claiming the union should be annulled on the grounds that because Ashley had been born a man, the marriage had never been legally sound.

The court agreed, setting a precedent which left transsexuals in gender limbo, until laws came into effect eight years ago that allowed them to be recognised legally as women.

In 1983, despite almost reaching 50, she had a one night stand with Michael Hutchence, who was just finding fame with INXS.

Following a hard fought campaign, April was finally able to legally call herself a woman in 2004, when the Government’s introduced the Gender Recognition Act.

It was not until 2005 that she was granted a new birth certificate, asserting that she was born female – with the help of old housemate John Prescott.

She says: ‘He was ever so supportive… he and his wife still send me Christmas cards.’

She now lives alone in Fulham, West London.

Florida Man Files Restraining Order On Kardashians, Claims They Tried To Assassinate Him

A Florida man is filing for a restraining order against a majority of the Kardashian family, with allegations that include mentions of brass knuckles and warnings issued in a Schwarzenegger voice. Is this for real?

A man in Florida has requested that the court grant him a temporary restraining order, twice, against the Kardashians and you will never believe what he’s claiming they did to him.

Radar reports that Gino Romano filed on June 14, claiming that on June 10, 2012, Kim Kardashian, sisters Kourtney and Khloé, and mom Kris Jenner assaulted him while at Busch Gardens. In his bizarre plea, he claims that “Khloé Kardashian put me in a head lock and Kourtney Kardashian stuck her heel in my eye and Kim Kardashian put brass knuckles on and punched me in the teeth, Kris Kardashian [Jenner] pulled out mace and sprayed me while Kim Kardashian pick pocketed my Levi’s and stole my wallet.”

Gino claims he filed a police report because he his afraid for his safety, continuing “”I was forced to bed confined [sic] because my head is injured from Kardashian assassination attempt against me, but I know they are coming back, because Kim Kardashian told me this in Arnold Schwarzenegger‘s voice.”

The judge threw out Gino’s request, but the man wasn’t done with his insane allegations. He filed another set of paperwork, claiming he was assaulted by them a second time, a day later, on June 11, at Walt Disney World. This second request claims that Gino faces “imminent danger and bodily harm” from the family.

Radar reports that the second document is filled with even more out-there claims, like Kourtney tasered Gino, Kim whispered ‘…gonna get you sucker,’ and Khloe was dressed as a sumo wrestler and slammed him into the curb.

Not surprisingly, Gino can’t come up with any witnesses for either of his claims.

Reps sack Lawan, save Tambuwal

Members of the House of Representatives on Friday passed a vote of confidence in the Speaker, Mr. Aminu Tambuwal.

The development put to rest the speculation that the $3m bribery scandal involving Mr. Farouk Lawan and oil businessman, Mr. Femi Otedola, would be used as a springboard to impeach Tambuwal.

Otedola had accused Lawan, who chaired the ad hoc committee of the House on the fuel subsidy regime, of demanding $3m bribes from him.

Out of the amount, he said he had already paid the first instalment of $620,000 to Lawan and the secretary of the panel, Mr. Boniface Emenalo.

Lawan, who is now a guest of the police, had admitted taking the money, but claimed that he wanted to use it to expose Otedola.

He alleged that Otedola offered the bribe to secure a soft-landing for Zenon Oil and Gas Ltd., a firm which allegedly participated in the fuel subsidy scheme.

The House had summoned an emergency session on Friday to take a clear position on the scandal.

In a motion by the Chief Whip, Mr. Isiaka Bawa, the House noted that the members were worried over the bribery allegation and the “public concern generated by same.”

Bawa added that the allegation could adversely affect the “integrity of the ad hoc committee’s report if not thoroughly investigated.”

The lawmakers immediately resolved to relief Lawan and Emenalo of their positions as chairman and secretary respectively of the committee.

A member of the panel and chairman of the House Committee on Appropriation, Mr. John Enoh, was directed to head the committee.

The House mandated the Committee on Ethics and Privileges to investigate the bribery allegation against Lawan and “report back to members within two weeks upon resumption from the current recess of the House.”

The House resolved to “support and encourage the investigations already being undertaken by the relevant security and anti-graft agencies.”

The earlier decision of April 24 deleting Zenon Oil & Gas and Synopsis Enterprises from the list of firms that took FOREX was rescinded by the House on Friday.

The ad hoc committee had recommended the investigation of the firms by the anti-graft agencies “with a view to verifying what they used the FOREX for.”

After Lawan had applied for the removal of the oil firms’ names from the list on April 24, the House obliged his request.

However, in the light of the bribery allegation, the House rescinded its decision and reverted to the original recommendation by the ad hoc committee.

Lawan, who also heads the standing Committee on Education, was suspended from the headship of the committee pending the outcome of the investigation.

Emenalo was referred the bureaucracy of the National Assembly for investigation and appropriate punishment in line with extant civil service rules.

The House called on President Goodluck Jonathan and anti-graft agencies to “proceed with the implementation of the House’s resolution on the fuel subsidy regime investigation already communicated to them.”

Tambuwal received a standing ovation from members at Friday’s session after they endorsed a proposal to pass a vote of confidence in his leadership.

The Minority Whip, Mr. Sampson Osagie, made the proposal in the course of his contribution to debate on Lawan’s case.

Osagie argued that Lawan’s involvement in the alleged bribery was an individual matter, which must not be interpreted as a House issue or a failure of its leadership.

He added, “If a member commits an offence, it is not the entire House but it is that individual who must be called to account.

“The crisis affecting Lawan should not have happened; it is unfortunate that it happened.

“However, as a House, we will refuse to be blackmailed by the resort to security agencies just to score a point.”

Osagie stated that the manner in which security agencies were used in a sting operation against Lawan suggested desperation on the part of the executive in its bid to rubbish the legislature.

Osagie proposed, “The House do hereby pass a vote of confidence in (Speaker Aminu) Tambuwal.”

The resolution was unanimously adopted without a dissenting voice, while all the members gave Tambuwal a standing ovation.

Addressing lawmakers after the resolutions were passed, Tambuwal recalled that he had consistently warned them to be aware of the hazards of their duties as legislators.

According to him, for lawmakers to effectively perform the constitutional duty of exposing corruption, they must be above board at all times.

He noted that those to be investigated would set traps for the investigators just to score a point and frustrate the anti-corruption war.

He said, “I wish at this point to make this pledge that the House of Representatives shall continue to act responsibly by ensuring that all investigations are instituted only when absolutely necessary.

“Furthermore, we shall insist on probity and fairness on the part of our members conducting such investigations; and we shall not hesitate to sanction anyone who, in the course of these investigations, overreaches himself or uses the process to intimidate anyone or engages in corruption.”

The Speaker, however, said that the allegation against Lawan must not be used as an excuse by the executive not to implement the subsidy report.

Tambuwal insisted that the report should be investigated to send the message that Nigeria was indeed committed to fighting corruption.

The chairman of the House Committee on Public Accounts, Mr. Adeola Solomon, applauded the House for taking a clear position on the corruption allegation.

Commenting on why the ad hoc committee was not dissolved, the Chairman of the House Committee on Media and Public Affairs, Mr. Zakari Mohammed, explained that the bribery allegation was against one member and not the entire committee.

Paramedics called after Lindsay Lohan's 'aides fail to rouse her following 13-hour day on set of Liz & Dick'

Drama: Lindsay Lohan was found 'unresponsive' in a  hotel room in this morning

According to TMZ, medical officers arrived at the scene after Lindsay called the Liz & Dick production team this morning and complained about feeling unwell.
A private doctor was then called and before the doctor arrived at the premises they asked the hotel to check on the actress.When a member of hotel staff knocked on her door and she did not rouse, 911 was called by a member of the Liz & Dick production team.

When paramedics arrived on the scene, they reportedly determined that the star was 'ok'.
Apparently Lindsay has been filming for two days in a row with very little sleep and decided to stay at the hotel in order to get some much-needed rest.

 Her representative, Steve Honig, told E! News: 'Lindsay has been working a gruelling schedule for the last couple of days.

'Last night she worked from 7 p.m. to 8 a.m. She was exhausted and went back to her room to sleep.

'Producers were apparently concerned and called the fire department and paramedics found her sleeping but determined that she was fine, just extremely exhausted and slightly dehydrated.
'She is on her way home now to rest and will be back on set later today.'

 He added that no drugs or alcohol were involved in the incident.
Lindsay has previously battled problems with drugs and alcohol, but in March was finally taken of probation for a number of offenses stemming back to a 2007 arrest for Driving Under the Influence.

She is now making her comeback with ‘Liz & Dick’ – in which she plays Elizabeth Taylor – and has also been cast in movie The Canyons.

On Tuesday Lindsay was spotted filming scenes for Liz & Dick on a balcony at the hotel.
Channeling another one of Elizabeth Taylor's timeless looks, she was wearing an all black dress with stand-out diamond earrings and a matching necklace and bracelet.

It was recently reported that Lohan wasn't made to do a blood test following the car crash and therefore the police are unsure if she had been drinking.
According to Radar Online, the Santa Monica Police 'didn't request a blood sample from Lindsay Lohan when she was in the emergency room' after she drove into the back of a truck last Friday.
'Lindsay was given a portable breathaliser test along with several other field sobriety tests and she passed them all,' a source told the website.

'She did everything that was asked of her and cooperated fully. This is why the cops didn't request a blood sample from Lindsay, as they concluded that she wasn't under the influence and didn't need to be given a blood test.'

The source went on to add that Lohan was apparently 'shaken up' about the accident, and was told by the police that her 'seat belt absolutely saved her life.'

Schoolboy, 14, arrested after he 'stabs 26 classmates in the head and neck with a used needle in frenzied break time attack'

A 14-year-old boy has been arrested over claims at least 26 school pupils were stabbed with a medical needle during a lunch break.

The teenager is understood to have gone on a rampage at Toot Hill School, in Bingham, Notts, stabbing some students in the head and neck.

After the incident on Wednesday some students had to go to hospital to be tested for infections including hepatitis and HIV.

The school said pupils were stabbed with a lancet, but police believe a diabetic pen was used.

Nine have already been tested, although health officials say the risks are very slim, but the test results won’t be known for three months.

The pupil - who police said was taking part in some sort of game - was arrested on suspicion of assault, and later released on bail.

Head teacher John Tomasevic told the BBC said: 'From what we can tell at this moment in time, evidently we are still investigating it, it wasn't malicious.

'It was more in fun and trying to get a reaction.

'A student got hold of a lancet and he went around pricking a number of other students in his immediate friendship group and wider than that.

'We found out about the incident towards the end of the school day and as a precaution we advised all parents to take their child to the hospital just for tests and just to make sure everything would be safe and secure for their child.'

The boy has since been suspended for five days by the school, which has 1,600 pupils, aged from 11 to 18.

But some parents have accused the school of failing to take the attack seriously enough.

Parent Elena Georgiou’s said her son was one of those stabbed and she said she only heard about it from another parent.

Concern: Some students at Toot Hill school had to go to hospital to be tested for infections including hepatitis and HIV.

She said 'There are going to be a lot of repercussions from what’s happened and maybe they won’t let anything like this happen again.

'There are a lot of parents, very, very angry. I don’t blame the child as much, I blame the school more for the way that they’ve dealt with it.

 Defence: Head teacher John Tomasevic said he was happy with the school's response.

'The needle should never have been in the school in the first place.'

But Mr Tomasevic said he was happy with the school’s response.

'A lock down would have been an over-reaction and anyway by the time we’d even done our preliminary investigations the school day had finished so that wasn’t a possibility.'

A statement from the school said: 'The incident that occurred on June 13th has been dealt with by the school in a prompt and appropriate manner.

'The investigation of the incident has not yet been completed, but we have established that a student acquired a medical lancet (8mm in length) and used it to prick around 20 students.

'The school’s first action was to contact parents of students involved and provide appropriate medical advice.

'Health agencies emphasise the extremely low health risk associated with incidents of this nature.

'The health authorities recognise that the school has followed all advice and procedures in caring and supporting our students and their families.

Worrying wait: Nine students have already been tested, although health officials say the risks are very slim, but the test results wont be known for three months.

'It is always important for a school to maintain a calm and supportive environment and to take a proportionate view of events in order to prevent unnecessary anxiety.'

The school says the pupil who attacked fellow students has been suspended for five days while they carry out an internal investigation.

A Nottinghamshire Police spokesperson: 'Police are investigating reports that a number of children sustained minor injuries during an incident at Toot Hill School, in Bingham, on Wednesday 13 June.

'We are currently working with the school to establish what happened.

'The parents of about 26 pupils affected have been informed and some have sought medical advice after, what is believed to be a diabetic pen, was used. Enquiries are ongoing.'

Toot Hill achieves above average GCSE and A-level results and is ranked the fourth best Nottinghamshire.

Dr Vanessa MacGregor, consultant in communicable disease control at HPA East Midlands, said: ‘No one was seriously injured, but there is a very small risk that a BBV [bloodborne virus] could have been passed on to others who were pricked with the same needle.’

Woman, 63, 'becomes PREGNANT in the mouth' with baby squid after eating calamari

A 63-year-old woman became 'pregnant' with 12 baby squid after eating calamari, according to a claim in a bio-tech report.

The real-life 'octo-mum', from South Korea, was eating a portion of cooked whole squid when she felt a sharp pain in her mouth.
The bizarre claim has been made in a scientific paper from the National Center for Biotechnology Information in Bethesda, Maryland.

The lady told doctors that she could feel something in her mouth which they described as 'bug-like organisms'.
When examined, the doctors found 'baby cephalopods' attached to her mouth. These are small pods, covered in a cement-like material to make them stick.

Inside the pods is an 'ejaculatory apparatus' and sperm - with the apparatus expelling the sperm quite forcefully.
After the victim of the 'attack' was hospitalised, doctors removed the baby cephalopods from her gums, tongue and cheek. It was only then that the pods were formally identified as 'squid spermatophores.'

Western calamari fans need not worry: Internal organs are usually removed here before consumption.

The Center's paper says: 'She did not swallow the portion, but spat it out immediately. She complained of a pricking and foreign-body sensation in the oral cavity.

'Twelve small, white spindle-shaped, bug-like organisms stuck in the mucous membrane of the tongue, cheek, and gingiva [gums] were completely removed, along with the affected mucosa.  
'On the basis of their morphology and the presence of the sperm bag, the foreign bodies were identified as squid spermatophores.'

According to Science 2.0, a spermatophore is similar to a cup of semen.
The site adds that there is still mystery around how spermatophores are implanted into the skin.
A similar case was reported in December last year when a woman in Japan suffered severe pains in her mouth after eating raw squid.

She took the remaining piece of squid with her to the Tosei General Hospital, the NCBI reports, and sperm bags were removed.

Incidents involving the impregnation of human mouths appear to be confined to the Far East where, generally, more raw fish is eaten.
When squid is prepared in the west, internal organs are removed meaning there is no risk of eating spermatophores.

Danna Staaf, a squid enthusiast from Science 2.0, said: 'The skin on your hands, and most of the rest of your body, is much too thick to get stuck.

'I've probably had hundreds of spermatophores ejaculate on my fingers and never felt a sting.'
According to the Biological Bulletin 'Spermatophores are either transferred to the female by the male's hectocotylus, a specialised arm, or by a long penis, which is present in species that lack hectocotyli.

'After being discharged from the spermatophore in the spermatophoric reaction, the sperm mass is encased in a thin covering, with the cement body at one end.

'This discharged structure, the spermatangium, may attach to the skin of the female or be deeply embedded in her skin or muscle.'

The reproduction of deep-sea squids is still something of a mystery simply because their habitat is hard to get to.

But judging from Lil' Kim's recent appearance she seems to have undergone a number of treatments recently.

The 37-year-old looked dramatically different as she stepped out to perform at LA pride last weekend. 

Her cheeks appeared extremely puffy, suggesting she has had cheek implants, and the result made her face appear much rounder.

Curiously Kim's lips looked considerably smaller than they have in the past.

A spokesperson for the star was unavailable for comment earlier today.

 

She's still got her curves: The 37-year-old rapper had squeeze her voluptuous shape into a tiny gold bodice which she covered with a short velvet jacket.

While Kim's face appears changed her outrageous dress sense certainly hasn't and she took to the stage in a series of provocative ensembles.

For her first outfit, the Lady Marmalade rapper wore a tight-fitting sequined and beaded gold leotard.

With a plunging neck and high-cut bottom half, the outfit made no secret of the 37-year-old's famous curvy thighs and behind.

She completed the outfit with towering high silver and black heels.
For her second costume, the feisty 37-year-old strutted her stuff in black micro shorts, a sparkly silver and black hoodie, shades and another pair of killer heels.

The mother who beat her three-year-old son while allegedly high on 'bath salts' was photographed running naked through the street - moments before police used a Taser to subdue her.

Pamela McCarthy, 35, went into cardiac arrest after the struggle with state troopers outside her apartment in Munnsville, New York on Tuesday. She later died in hospital.
The shocking photograph, taken by a neighbour, shows McCarthy running towards the child as he clings to his father in fear.

Neighbours had called police at 7.45 p.m. to say the woman was punching and choking her son, attacking neighbours and strangling one of her dogs.

The woman's boyfriend, Jason Williams, told WSYR he saw her running naked outside their apartment and ran to grab their son, who McCarthy had been beating and trying to strip.
In a recent spate of violent attacks across the country, alleged users of 'bath salts' have taken off their clothes, claiming the illegal synthetic drug causes them to burn up.

As state troopers responded to the scene, other neighbours called to report she was becoming increasingly violent.

One neighbour told WSYR: 'She was... just running back and forth around the street and she got a hold of one of her dogs and she was rolling around on the ground with her legs wrapped around it - she was strangling the dog.'

Another said: 'She was definitely on something. Who does that?'
When officers arrived at the scene, they found McCarthy was 'violently combative' and apparently under the influence of the drug, police said.

Scene: When McCarthy resisted police outside her home in Munnsville, New York, they used a Taser.


Troopers said the woman growled at them as they approached her and claimed she tried to bite one of the officers.
When trooper Christopher Budlong tried to arrest McCarthy, she resisted. In an attempt to subdue her, he used his police-issued pepper spray, but to no effect.

He then deployed his Taser and was able to handcuff her. After she was taken into custody, she went into apparent cardiac arrest, police said. She was taken to hospital but later died.
Williams said she had a history of drug abuse but was stunned to see her behaviour.

'I told her mom, "She needs help",' Williams told WSYR. 'Everyone says to get rid of her because I tell all mean stories. I got nothing good to say. I love her…love her to death…then I seen that.'

Her three-year-old son was taken by ambulance to Upstate University Hospital in Syracuse and was treated for minor injuries. He is now with Williams's mother.



Potent: McCarthy had allegedly taken bath salts, an illegal synthetic drug behind a spate of violent attacks.


An autopsy on McCarthy will be carried out on Wednesday to determine the cause of the death.
It is just the latest incident involving bath salts, an illegal synthetic drug believed to be behind a recent outbreak of horrifying attacks.

Bath salts, a synthetic amphetamine cocktail known as 'the new LSD', was the believed drug of choice for Rudy Eugene, who he chewed off homeless man Ronald Poppo's face in Miami last month.

A man in Louisiana, Carl Jacquneaux, was arrested when he bit off a piece of his neighbour's cheek, which a friend blamed on bath salts.
And just this week, a man in North Miami allegedly stripped and exposed himself to a three-year-old girl in a park while on the drug.


THE VIOLENT CRIMES 'COMMITTED AFTER BATH SALTS'

 'Bath salts' have been implicated in a recent spate of violent attacks across the country:

'Miami Cannibal' Rudy Eugene is believed to have taken bath salts before stripping off his clothes and pouncing on a naked homeless man and chewing off 80 per cent of his face. When he refused to stop, Miami-Dade police officers shot him dead.

Brandon DeLeon, 21, allegedly tried to bite off a police officer’s hand after he was arrested for disturbing customers in a Miami fast food restaurant. He yelled at officers: 'I'm going to eat you.' The police report noted that he 'growled and opened and closed his jaw slamming his teeth like an animal would.'

Carl Jacquneaux, 43, allegedly bit a chunk out of his neighbour's face while on the drug before going to another neighbour's home in Scott, Louisiana and holding him at knife point.

Shane Shuyler, 40, allegedly stripped off and laid naked on a park bench in North Miami while under the influence of bath salts. He exposed himself to a three-year-old girl before chasing her and shouting: 'Come here pretty girl, I wanna stick it in you.'
