Top 10 Foods That Will Boost Your Mood...

Girl eating chocolate

Hello Friends!

As a matter of fact and truth, i can attest to chocolate helping to boost your mood...*wide grin* and walnuts too...

1. Berries - Berries are very efficient against depression, as they are full of antioxidants that support the proper functioning of the brain and improve the cognitive function.

In addition to this, berries also promote positive energy, they stimulate the production of “feel-good enzymes” in the brain and they can prevent a variety of potentially fatal diseases, such as cancer. The high amount of antioxidants also prevent cell oxidation caused by free radicals, and prevent premature aging. In other words, you should replace the traditional popcorn with frozen blueberries when watching TV or when you feel sad – you will not only stay fit in the long run, but you will also feel happier!

2. Chocolate - If you think chocolate is nothing more than a delicious treat, you are wrong! Dark chocolate can improve cognitive function, it can prevent Alzheimer and dementia and it can also boost your mood in a matter of minutes.

The darker the chocolate you consume, the better! Dark chocolate slows down the production of stress hormone, and the anxiety levels automatically decrease – moreover, chocolate also makes the brain release endorphins and also boosts the serotonin levels. This creates a feeling of well-being that lasts for several hours.

Hello Friends!

It was the ‘best feeling in the world’ for Helen Conway when she discovered she was expecting her first baby.

But after the birth of daughter Amelia, her joy was shattered when it emerged she had developed a rare form of cancer that only occurs during pregnancy.

Miss Conway, a consultant for a bank, was diagnosed with choriocarcinoma which affects fewer than 20 women a year in the UK.

It develops in the placenta when cells that were part of a normal pregnancy become cancerous and spread to other parts of the body.
The cause is not known and it can develop months or even years after pregnancy, making it difficult to diagnose.

‘I don’t think any woman considers that cancer might be a risk of pregnancy,’ said Miss Conway, 38, of Halifax, West Yorkshire.

‘It was terrifying. I’d just brought a baby into the world and I feared what would happen to her if I didn't beat it.’
The cancer was only spotted nine months after Miss Conway gave birth when she began coughing blood.
It took four months of chemotherapy before she was given the all-clear.

Hello Friends!

A woman accused of swindling a couple out of property worth £14million by posing as a Saudi princess was actually a prostitute, a court heard.
Sara Al Amoudi reportedly boasted of ‘limitless wealth’, and convinced HSBC to lend her £4million, while a statement from Barclays suggested she had £165million in her account.

But property developers Amanda Clutterbuck, 56, and Ian Paton, 45, say the ‘princess’ actually worked as a prostitute with her two sisters in a £750,000 flat yards from Harrods.
A judge also urged Miss Al Amoudi to remove her burka in court for the complex civil claim from Miss Clutterbuck and Mr Paton for the value of six luxurious London properties they signed over to her.

Miss Al Amoudi, who counts peers among her friends and is said to have dated actor Colin Farrell, earned the nickname ‘the vamp in the veil’ following a previous court case in which ex-boyfriend Patrick Ribbsaeter, a Swedish model, was cleared of assaulting her chauffeur.

He claimed that Miss Al Amoudi – whose age has been variously reported as 30 and 43 – regularly discarded her veil to go to nightclubs and drink herself into a stupor.

London’s High Court heard how Mr Paton was introduced to Miss Al Amoudi about ten years ago by another property developer, Elliot Nichol. Miss Al Amoudi, Mr Paton and Miss Clutterbuck then became involved in a multimillion-pound scheme to redevelop prime sites in the capital.

Mr Paton and Miss Clutterbuck claim they lost everything when the venture collapsed – and realized they had been tricked.
Miss Clutterbuck said in a  statement: ‘I thought I was living through an Alfred Hitchcock film, in which reality seemed to be totally distorted. Mr Nichol had drunkenly admitted that the so-called Saudi Arabian “princesses” were in fact prostitutes.’

Transgender at six: Family embraces decision to let daughter live as boy...

Insistent: Tyler receives a longed-for short haircut after insisting for years that he was not a girl...

Hello Friends!

The insistence that she was a boy began when Kathryn was two years old and only became more pronounced, distressed and frustrated as she grew older.

By the time she was four, Kathryn's parents began to realize there was more going on than just Kathryn being a tomboy.

After seeing a psychologist who diagnosed Kathryn as having gender dysphoria and recommended they let her to live as a boy, Jean and Stephen allowed Kathryn to become Tyler (names have been changed) and watched as their daughter bloomed into a happy, playful little boy.

According to The Washington Post, for years, their little girl had been telling Stephen and Jean that she was a little boy.

Stephen recalls a car trip with Kathryn that made him realize how desperately unhappy his child was in her skin.
'Daddy, I’m going to read you a story, okay?' Kathryn told her father, before opening a book and pretending to read. Her story was about a little boy who was born 'like a girl' and how sad he was.

The couple decided to take their younger child to see a psychologist specializing in transgender. Michele Angello confirmed what they already knew - Tyler had gender dysphoria and it was unlikely to change.

'If Tyler wants to be Kathryn again, that’s fine,' Jean told The Washington Post. 'But right now, this works. He’s happy. I just want my child to be happy.'
For Tyler's older sister, 8, it's fairly simple: 'It’s just a boy mind in a girl body,' she told her classmates about her brother.

The Washington Post first profiled Tyler and his family when he was five. Tyler's parents had followed their psychologist's advice and faced the difficulty of imparting the news of Tyler's change to their families and community.

•Block of classrooms at Government Secondary School, Mamudo, Yobe State, destroyed by Boko Haram members...on Saturday.

Hello Friends!

President Goodluck Jonathan on Sunday described the killing of 29 pupils of Government Secondary School, Mamudo, Potiskum, Yobe State, as wicked and barbaric and vowed to flush our perpetrators of violence out of the country.

“The killing is barbaric, completely wicked. Anybody who will target innocent children for any kind of grief will certainly go to hell,” the President said in a statement by his spokesman, Reuben Abati.

The presidential condemnation came on the heels of the closure of secondary schools in Yobe as a result of the killings of the school pupils in Mamudo.

Governor Ibrahim Gaidam who described the killing as “cold-blooded murder” when he visited the attacked school on Sunday ordered all secondary schools in the state shut until the beginning of next academic session in September.

The pupils and one of their teachers were murdered by suspected members of the violent Islamic sect, Boko Haram whom the security forces had been waging war against since the declaration of state of emergency in Yobe, Adamawa and Borno states on May 14 this year.

Abati added, “Mr. President wants to assure Nigerians that these kind of desperate Nigerians will be flushed out of the system.

“Mr. President is committed to the issue of the protection of lives and properties of all Nigerians and he wants to assure Nigerians that the war against terrorists has been launched and will continue and the Nigerian government is determined to put an end to this menace.
