3 Journalists, Driver Die In Oshiomhole’s Convoy

Edo State Governor, Comrade Adams Oshiomhole’s re-election campaign began on a tragic note on Saturday following the death of three journalists and a drivers in a ghastly motor accident involving the convoy of the governor.

This is coming barely two weeks after the gruesome murder of a cameraman with Benin-based Independent Television, ITV.

Unfortunately, two of the three journalists killed in the accident are also staff of ITV, and the other of AIT.

The accident, which occurred along Auchi/Warrake Road, Etsako West local Government, involved the a tipper lorry with the SUV conveying security operatives, the press crew bus and a Hilux van conveying other members of the governor’s entourage.

9ice Sacks Manager, Dehinde

Nigeriafilms.com can confirm that top Nigerian singer, 9ice has sacked his friend and manager, Dehinde Fajana.

According to investigation done by Nigeriafilms.com after we got the hint of their split, we gathered that Abolore Akande, 9ice's real names, sacked Dehinde just some days after his album concert at Eko Hotels, Victoria Island, Lagos.

We could not confirm the main reason for Dehinde's sack but fingers are pointing at Toni Payne, who is not in good terms with Dehinde. Some believe that there have been some irreconcilable differences between them.

An unconfirmed source told Nigeriafilms.com that 9ice and Toni Payne are planning a re-union and as such, Dejinde must be off the scene for Toni to stage a comeback with 9ice as one family.

Toni Payne has reportedly believed that Dehinde was behind her first marriage break-up with 9ice.

She has reportedly sworn that 9ice must lay off Dehinde as a condition to reunite with 9ice.

Dehinde has been 9ice's manager for about five years.

Sources told Nigeriafilms that Eniola has been on the look out for Davido asking when he would storm Canada for them to see each other.

Just hours ago, Eniola has been tracking Davido on twitter to get his exact location.

One of her tweets to Davido reads, "letz hook up on Islington on 401, Toronto." Another tweet reads, "what's up dearie, [I] am waiting for you in Canada. When are you coming in?"

We hope what we were told about Eniola Badmus and Davido are false. Fingers crossed.

Bodies of man and women shot in head found in car at golf course

Police have discovered the bodies of a man and woman who had been shot in the head.
Officers from Durham Constabulary were called to Crook Golf Club in Durham this morning where they found the pair in a car.

The force are not looking for anyone else in the investigation, they said.

Acting Detective Superintendent Kevin Weir said: 'We are carrying out a full investigation to establish the identities of the people in the vehicle and the events leading up to their deaths.

'Although enquiries are at their very early stages I must reassure people that we do not believe the wider community is at any risk at this time.'

Police were called to the scene on Low Job's Hill, Crook, at 11.35am today 'acting on information received', a spokeswoman said.

The pair, who police said were believed to be a man and woman, were thought to have sustained 'serious gunshot wounds to the head'.

The spokeswoman said: "The area has been cordoned off and a full investigation is being carried out".

A Mexican woman named Karla Vanessa Perez is reportedly pregnant with 9 babies, and is now being dubbed as NonoMom or NueveMom, with reports later saying that the earlier news are not true.

According to Mexican news on Friday, April 27, 2012, Karla Vanessa Perez of Arteaga, Coahuila appeared in local TV networks revealing that she is pregnant with 9 babies, and is being set to give birth on May 20 via C-section.

“I feel different because there are nine of them. I feel odd, but so be it. We must move forward and hopefully everything goes well,” Karla Vanessa, 32, was quoted as saying on Televisa TV network, noting that she learned that she is pregnant last January.

Apparently, Notimex, another Mexican TV network, reported that Coahuila Health Secretary Bertha Castellanos also reported that after an ultrasound, it was determined that Karla Vanessa is indeed pregnant with 9 babies.

“It’s very early to think of names for the babies. First I hope that everything goes well.” Perez was quoted telling to Notimex, who was said to be married to mechanic Juan Bernardo Morales and already has four children, three of them were reportedly triplets born last November.

However, Mexican news, including local newspaper El Diario de Coahuila reported later that Karla Vanessa is not really pregnant with 9 babies and that she did not even gave birth to triplets, with her three children now 15, 12, and 4 years old, as confirmed by her mother Francisca Castañeda.

Apparently, Francisca said her daughter already underwent operation and will not give birth again, which was also confirmed by Mexican Society of Gynecologic Urology member Dr. Jose Salvador Gallegos Mata, who said that being pregnant with 9 babies would be possible only by the method of artificial insemination.

A dentist pulled out all her ex-boyfriend’s teeth after he dumped her for another woman – who has now left him because he is toothless.

Anna Mackowiak, 34, is facing jail after taking her revenge on 45-year-old Marek Olszewski when he turned up at her surgery with toothache just days after breaking up with her.
She gave him a heavy dose of anaesthetic and plucked his teeth out.

She then wrapped his head and jaw in a bandage to stop him opening his mouth and said there had been complications and he would need to see a specialist.

The dentist, who works in Wroclaw, Poland, said: ‘I tried to be professional and detach myself from my emotions.
'But when I saw him lying there I just thought, "What a b******".'

Mr Olszewski said: 'I knew something was wrong because when I woke up I couldn’t feel any teeth and my jaw was strapped up with bandages.

'She told me my mouth was numb and I wouldn’t be able to feel anything for a while and that the bandage was there to protect the gums, but that I would need to see a specialist.

'I didn’t have any reason to doubt her, I mean I thought she was a professional.

She died just one day after her knee surgery, and the death was later discovered to have been caused by a pulmonary embolism.

Mr Yard lists 'obesity' as one of the star's other significant risk factors.

The comedian goes on to argue that condoms or other methods of birth control should have been suggested instead.
He goes on to claim that when she went to a family practitioner on April 18 to complain about knee pain she was cleared for knee surgery despite a number of risk factors.

These included obesity, high blood cholestorol levels and the fact she was on Zenchent.

He claims the doctor 'should have advised [Mia] to eliminate some of her other risk factors prior to clearing her for the surgery.'

She went on to have surgery, which she hoped would help cure an old basketball injury, on May 9 and died the next day.

He is suing both the gynecologist and the family practitioner for unspecified damages.
He is looking for monetary compensation for the loss of love, companionship and moral support he suffered as a result of Mia's death.

Air Force decorates first female combat pilot

A Flying Officer of the Nigeria Air Force, Blessing Liman, on Friday made history as the first female pilot of the force.

Liman was decorated alongside 29 other male counterparts by the Minister of State for Defence, Mrs. Olusola Obada, who represented the Minister of Defence, Dr. Haliru Bello, at the ceremony in Abuja.

Liman is also the first female pilot of the Air Force to have emerged from West Africa.

The minister called on the Armed Forces to put in more efforts to the campaign against terrorism in the country.

He maintained that the current security threats and the incidents of bombing required the efforts of all and should not be left in the hands of a single service.

He urged the Armed Forces to pay attention to the task of protecting Nigerians irrespective of tribe or religious inclination.

He urged Liman to maintain her record of outstanding performance, stressing that she was a major aspect of the nation since the commencement of democratic governance in 1999.

Suicide bomber’s cell-phone recovered from scene of blast

Investigators have recovered the cell-phone of the suicide bomber that attacked the office of ThisDay in the Jabi area of Abuja on Thursday.

The charred phone was among the items that were picked up by security agents, who examined the remnants of the Isuzu Sports Utility Vehicle used by the bomber in carrying out his deadly mission.

Apart from the phone, bomb fragments and other clues were extracted from the wreckage of the vehicle for forensic analysis.

A source told our correspondent that a forensic analysis of the SIM card content would be done to provide clues to the identity of the bomber and the conversations that he might have had with his accomplices and sponsors before setting out for his target.

The source said, “The recovery of the burnt phone is a boost to ongoing investigation of the incident. We can only hope that the SIM card is not damaged in the blast. If it is intact and we explore it, we should be able to extract useful information from it.”

Kidnappers Want N50m For Catholic Priest

Kidnappers of a Catholic priest, Reverend Father Nwika Gbinu have demanded a N50 million ransom for the man of God to regain his freedom, after spending four days in their den.

Rev. Nwika was reportedly kidnapped at about 2 a.m. on Monday at his residence at St. Mary’s Catholic Church, Onne in Eleme Local Government Area of Rivers State, Southsouth Nigeria.

The cleric’s elder brother, Ledum said the whereabouts of his brother had remained unknown as the kidnappers had not contacted the family.

However, a source claimed the abductors have demanded N50 million ransom from the cleric’s church to enable him regain his freedom.

Reacting to the demand for ransom, the Director of Social Communications for the Port Harcourt Diocese of the Catholic Church, Rev. Father Chris Anyanwu said the church was not ready to part with a dime.

The cleric’s brother, Ledum appealed to the abductors to release his brother unconditionally, arguing that he is not a politician and his church did not organise any launch or harvest programme where huge amount of money could be raised.

Rivers State Police Command Public Relations Officer, PPRO, DSP Benjamin Ugwuegbulam confirmed the kidnap of the cleric.

He added that the matter is being investigated and efforts are ongoing to rescue the catholic priest.

Man Impregnates Father’s Wife

A young man, Emmanuel Okon Akpan of Okoyong community in Odukpani Local Government Area of Cross River State, Southsouth Nigeria, shocked residents of the area when he engaged in a faceoff with his father for allegedly snatching the old man’s wife, Agnes Akpan.

The trouble appears to have reached a point of no reconciliation as the young man has also impregnated the woman, claiming he so much loves her.

The man, who is currently in detention at the Federal Housing Police Station, is to explain to the police what relationship he has with his father’s wife that has culminated in pregnancy.

The man was heard at the police station lamenting that his first son Emmanuel “has snatched my wife that I just married not long ago.”

Mr. Akpan said he is a widower who lost his first wife some years ago, and had been single until recently when he decided to marry Agnes in order to have someone to assist him wash his clothes and prepare his meals.

A teenage girl who organised the killing of a 15-year-old schoolboy at Victoria Station on Facebook and kicked him as he lay bleeding to death was jailed for 12 years.

Victoria Osoteku had just turned 18 when she joined a 20-strong mob armed with an array of weapons as they hunted down Sofyen Belamouadden, 15, in front of hundreds of horrified rush hour commuters at the busy London train station.

The teenager helped to set up the attack on the social networking site Facebook and then bought a £3.99 knife set from Argos, which was used to stab Sofyen at least nine times.

Osoteku was then seen kicking the victim as he lay helpless on he ground with stab wounds to his heart and right lung.

The Old Bailey heard Osteku claimed she just ‘nudged’ him with her foot ‘to see if he was okay’.

But Osoteku, now aged 20, was convicted of manslaughter after giving evidence for 21 days – the longest testimony at the Old Bailey in recent years – in a four month trial.

Insecurity: PDP Is Part Of Our Problem —Azazi

National Security Adviser, Gen. Owoye Azazi has placed part of the security challenges facing the country at the doorstep of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), when it politicise security by projecting certain persons or ethnic groups as capable of ruling while others are not.
Azazi who made this frank disclosure on Friday on the subject, “Conversations on Terrorism and Securing the Gulf of Guinea” at the ongoing 2nd South-South Economic Summit, holding in Asaba, Delta State, said PDP got it wrong from the beginning by saying that “Mr. A can rule, but Mr. B cannot rule,” adding that this view created the climate of security threats facing Nigeria today.

The Security Adviser to President Jonathan who said though members of PDP have not always been comfortable with this frank opinion whenever he mentions it, said except those political issues are addressed, it will be difficult to get to the root of the challenges.

According to him, Boko Haram is a religious crisis, but that it is all about economic problem, adding that to alleviate this problem, there is need for economic empowerment and human capital development.

Another Bomb Rocks Gombe Varsity

The Gombe State University, Gombe, Northeast Nigeria was bombed yesterday night by a gang of armed men suspected to be members of Boko Haram.

An eyewitness who is also a student of the university, told P.M.NEWS that the attackers beat the security network at the gate and entered into the university premises.

They were said to be inside two vehicles and they came at about 9 p.m.

The source added that the men numbering about eight and well armed parked their vehicles in the institution’s premises. Thereafter they walked straight to the senate building and began shooting.

According to the eye witness, the attackers shot indiscriminately on the senate building for over 10 minutes to scare people away before they threw bomb into the building. The explosion brought down the major part of the senate building.

It was gathered that after bombing the senate building, the armed men shot indiscriminately at Gombe town while fleeing the area, to scare security operatives.

P.M.NEWS gathered that there was no loss of lives. But some students sustained minor injuries, while trying to escape from the scene of the bombing.

Efforts by P.M.NEWS to reach the State Police Commissioner, Alhaji Ibrahim Abdul to ascertain the casualty if any, yielded no results.

The attack occurred hours after ThisDay offices were bombed in Abuja and Kaduna yesterday. At least eight persons died in the attacks.

A woman who had sex with her teenage foster son told a court 'I fell in love with him - I’m sorry.'

Jane Riches admitted one charge of indecently assaulting the boy after she accepted kissing him passionately when he was still 15 years old.

She was cleared by the jury on five other indecent assault charges in relation to the teenager but may still face jail having earlier admitted four other sex assault charges against a different teenage boy she had fostered.

However, a complete set of rare vintage chromogenic prints from her last ever photo shoot - in which she posed topless - has emerged for sale. And they are set to fetch a pretty penny when they are auctioned next month.

They were taken by photographer Bert Stern in 1962 just six weeks before Monroe was found dead at the age of 36.

Original shots taken from the session - called The Last Sitting - are in huge demand across the world and were originally taken for Vogue magazine.

Because these have been displayed for many years, the colour has 'shifted' slightly, but even so the set is expected to fetch more than £15,000 at auction.

Stern’s three-day session with the famous blonde was a return to form for the glamour queen after a few difficult years.

In the pictures she appears and healthy and happy and there is no clue to suggest she was close to death.

Judith Eurich, from Bonhams, which is selling the prints, said: 'This is a very popular set. It is unusual to find a whole set and the owner has had them since they were printed.

'Because they’ve been displayed the colour has shifted slightly, or attenuated, which is what can happen to chromogenic prints.

'These were taken during Monroe’s last ever formal photo shoot just a few weeks before she died, which is kind of sad.

'She was very photogenic and knew how to seduce the camera and she enjoyed posing because it took her mind off other things.

'Typically these sets are broken up and the pictures sold individually.'

In the months before her death in August 1962 Monroe had attended President John F Kennedy’s birthday party where she famously sang 'happy birthday'.

She was then sacked from the set of the film Something’s Got to Give because she kept failing to turn up.
She then embarked on numerous publicity stunts including the Vogue shoot with Bert Stern.

She was found dead in bed at her home in California in August 1962. The cause of death was recorded as 'acute barbiturate poisoning', resulting from a 'probable suicide'.
It was said the last person to speak to her was JFK. The auction takes place in New York on May 8.

Outrage as Egypt plans 'farewell intercourse law' so husbands can have sex with DEAD wives up to six hours after their death

This is totally out of this world and grossly EVIL! What sort of gain or pleasure can be derived from this act? When the husband is supposed to be mourning, he is busy showing his last form of DIS RESPECT (that's what I call this) to the memory of his wife.

Get rid of women's rights to education and employment? It clearly shows that Egypt is totally against the growth and development of their society! Women are the core of any society and adequate attention to them/their needs shows would generate a happier society.

Egyptian husbands will soon be legally allowed to have sex with their dead wives for up to six hours after their death, local media is claiming.

The controversial new law is claimed to be part of a raft of measures being introduced by the Islamist-dominated parliament.

It will also see the minimum age of marriage lowered to 14 and the ridding of women's rights of getting education and employment.

Egypt's National Council for Women is reportedly campaigning against the changes, saying that 'marginalising and undermining the status of women would negatively affect the country's human development'.

Dr Mervat al-Talawi, head of the NCW, wrote to the Egyptian People’s Assembly Speaker Dr Saad al-Katatni addressing her concerns.

Egyptian journalist Amro Abdul Samea reported in the al-Ahram newspaper that Talawi complained about the legislations which are being introduced under 'alleged religious interpretations'.

The subject of a husband having sex with his dead wife arose in May 2011 when Moroccan cleric Zamzami Abdul Bari said marriage remains valid even after death.

He also said that women have the right to have sex with her dead husband, alarabiya.net reported.
It seems the topic, which has sparked outrage, has now been picked up on by Egypt's politicians.

TV anchor Jaber al-Qarmouty slammed the notion of letting a husband have sex with his wife after her death under the so-called 'Farewell Intercourse' draft law.

He said: 'This is very serious. Could the panel that will draft the Egyptian constitution possibly discuss such issues? Did Abdul Samea see by his own eyes the text of the message sent by Talawi to Katatni?

'This is unbelievable. It is a catastrophe to give the husband such a right! Has the Islamic trend reached that far? Is there really a draft law in this regard? Are there people thinking in this manner?'

Although reported in local media, there are some suggestions from within Egypt that the plans do not exist and were merely seeded by journalists loyal to ousted President Hosni Mubarak.

MailOnline has contacted the Egyptian Embassy and Consulate in London for comment on the claimed proposals, and is yet to receive a reply.

'I've got my freedom back': The real-life Rapunzel who sold her hair for $5,000 to buy family house is now living 'dream life'

A real-life Rapunzel girl who cut her hair for the first time has given her family the fairytale home they always dreamed of.

Natasha Moraes de Andrade, 12, wept as her 1.6m mane was sheared for the first time ever. But now she says it has given her a new life.

Natasha, who lives in a shanty town in Rio de Janeiro, was previously unable to do things enjoyed by other children such as going to the beach.

It took four hours every week to wash her hair and an hour and a half to brush every day, and made her life a misery.
Now she has had it all hacked off into a simple bob of just 40cm long, and washing her hair only takes five minutes.

And while Natasha previously slept in a tiny, windowless room, she got B$9,000 (about £3,000) from selling the hair for extensions which she has put towards a new home for her family.

'I cried at first when I was at the hairdressers to get it cut,' she says.

'I was afraid I wouldn't like it, and I was also scared I might not get the money I wanted for it.

'Getting it cut has given me a new life. I used to be afraid every time I went out that someone would grab my hair or try to cut it off, but now I can do a lot of things which I couldn't do before.

'Now I'm having cycling lessons, and I've got my freedom back. I much prefer it. I want to learn English and Spanish, and I've been able to go to the beach and swim without being afraid of getting my hair wet.'
It was an emotional moment for the rest of Natasha's family too.

Her mother Catarina said: 'I never put her under pressure to get it cut, but she was like a prisoner and wanted to do the things other girls her age do.
'It has given me back some freedom as I used to spend so much time looking after her hair.'

The family is now able to switch the fan on in the house, something previously impossible as Natasha's 5ft2in hair would get caught in it.
Natasha had never cut her hair since she was a baby, and others complimented her on her mane of thick, chestnut hair.

Now it is as long as it was when she was just four years old.
The family now plans to build a new house in the same shanty town, this time with a room for Natasha with windows which will be fit for a princess.

She may have short hair now but Natasha's old fame as Rapunzel continues at school where everyone still uses the nickname.

'I thought it would stop when I had it cut, but people still stop me in the street. If I had a daughter of my own, she would also be a princess, but she would be Snow White, not Rapunzel. That would be much more practical,' she said.
