Hello Friends!
This is truly incredible...Did I hear someone say" We are getting close to the end, and more hide outs should be uncovered..."
The Joint Security Task Force on Tuesday swooped on a house suspected to be a hideout for Boko Haram members, at Hayin-Hotoro in Nassarawa local government area of Kano state.
Spokesman of the 3 Brigade, Nigerian Army, Lieutenant Ikedichi Iweha, conducted journalists round the house. He said the JTF operatives discovered that the house was also a bomb-manufacturing factory for Boko Haram.
According to Iweha, two women and a number of children were rescued by the JTF during the early morning operation in the Hayin Hotoro area, predominantly inhabited by the low income earners resident.
He said, “The prime suspect we were looking for was not arrested because he escaped before we stormed the house. But we have rescued two women and some children from the house.
“The two women and children we have rescued have been taken away for investigation, and the house will be brought down using military armoured carrier.”
Iweha also disclosed that the security operatives were able to storm the area following a tip-off, pleading for cooperation from residents who live with members of the sect to inform any of the security agencies.
The Army Public Relations Officer said during the operation, the JTF operatives were able to discover a two-room apartment measuring about 25 by 25 ft in size where the Improvised Explosive Devices were being assembled.
Among the items recovered at the house were five IEDs, assorted containers, prime drum for packaging the bombs, liquid substances, charcoal as well as about four different DVD films of late al-Qaeda leader, Osama bin Laden, including one titled ‘Osama bin Laden death at last’.
This is the fourth time the JTF operatives carried out a similar operation in Kano metropolis.
