Hello Friends!

He has not kicked a football for eight months after succumbing to an ankle injury.
But Arsenal star Jack Wilshere still found time to hit the gym and work on his abs - and what an impressive set they turned out to be.

The young midfielder took to his Twitter page on Thursday to post a photo of his muscular physique, the result of being in a gym and having physical therapy.

But it prompted his teammate Benik Afobe to tease him and he wrote: 'So I guess 8 months of gym does really work then!'
Wilshere, 20, hasn't played all season since injury his ankle in a pre-season game which had to be operated on but has prevented him from returning to football.

He also won’t be fit to take part in England’s Euro 2012 campaign this summer.
And he could still be on the physio table when the new Premiership season - which comes to an end tomorrow - returns in August.
Laid up: Jack also Tweeted a pic of himself last year after having an operation on his injured ankle which has kept him out of action this season

But despite not being able to play under the new manager this summer, Wilshere was one of the first players to welcome Roy Hodgson into his new job when he was appointed England manager last week.

He said: 'Proved he is a top manager at international level so don't see a reason why he can't do it for England.'Good choice in my opinion. Good luck and I hope I can help him in some way in the future.'
Wilshere became a father for the first time last September when his girlfriend Lauren Neal gave birth to their son, Archie Jack Wilshere.'

Hello Friends!

The mistress of a father of 17 moved out of the family home with five of the couple's children just a week before the tragic blaze.
Friends and neighbours said yesterday that Lisa Willis left after Michael Philpott refused to divorce his wife and marry her.

A separate five of his children, all born to wife Mairead and all under the age of ten, were killed when flames tore through the house in Derby as they slept.

A 38-year-old man and woman aged in her 20s were earlier being held on suspicion of murder but tonight were released without charge.

Assistant Chief Constable Steve Cotterill said: 'This is a complex inquiry which requires careful and methodical investigation. We are still treating the fire as suspicious and are pursuing a number of lines of inquiry.'

Mr Philpott, 55, and Mrs Philpott, 31, escaped the blaze without serious injury, while her son Duwayne, 13, was left fighting for his life after the fire at the three-bedroom home.
The former baker is said to have made a valiant attempt to rescue his children, who were found by firemen still in their beds.

The family hit the headlines six years ago when it emerged Mr Philpott shared his cramped council home with his wife and mistress and his ten children by both women – and that both were pregnant by him again.

Mrs Philpott and Miss Willis later gave birth to a boy and girl respectively within a month of each other.

It is thought that Miss Willis may now be pregnant with Mr Philpott’s 18th child.
A series of anguished Facebook postings over the last month reveal Mr Philpott’s torment over the turbulent situation as he declared his love for all his children.

He had made a public appeal to be moved from the home where the blaze occurred to a bigger property to accommodate his unusual and growing family.

One friend, who asked not to be named, said: ‘Lisa left and took the children with her. I think she stopped Mick from seeing them at one point.’

The five dead children were last night named as ten-year-old Jade, John, aged nine, Jack, aged eight, six-year-old Jesse, and Jayden, who turned five in February.

The 13-year-old survivor, Duwayne, who has been transferred to a burns unit in Birmingham, is understood to be Mrs Philpott's son from a previous relationship.
Derbyshire Police said Mr and Mrs Philpott have asked for privacy during this difficult time as they continue to support the boy in hospital.

Mr Philpott has four biological children with Miss Willis: Shareen, aged eight, Katrine, seven, Kirk, six and five-year-old Yawery.
A fifth child, Jordan, 12, was Miss Willis’s from another relationship, but was raised by Mr Philpott and his then-mistress.

Mr Philpott also has six more children: David, 25, Richard, 24, and Michaela, 21, with his first wife, Pamela Lomax; Mikey, 14, and Aidan, 13, with ex-girlfriend Heather Kehoe, and Joshua, five, who Mr Philpott once said was the product of a liaison with the partner of a friend.

Just days ago, Mr Philpott, one of nine siblings himself, wrote of missing his ‘beautiful babies’ as part of a string of Facebook postings professing his love for of his children.
He wrote on May 1: ‘I love all my children more than life itself, including the ones who are not my flesh and blood.’

But less than an hour later, another comment apparently about Miss Willis laid bare the souring of relations between them.

He wrote: ‘All I want is my wife and all my kids they mean more. I’m sorry things turned out like this for my family. Thank Christ I did not divorce Mairead and marry that.’
It is understood the couple parted in late January and had some sort of reconciliation in mid-April, before tensions grew again.

The blaze broke out at the house in Allenton, Derby, at around 3.45am at the front of the 1960s semi. It is near the city’s giant Rolls Royce factory.

Next-door neighbour Joe Peel, who alerted the emergency services, said he was woken by his dog barking and looked outside his window to see the Philpotts’ front door alight.
He said: ‘I ran out of the house, screaming to the neighbour to wake him up. No one could get near the house because of flames and smoke.

‘Everyone was screaming. A couple of minutes later the fire brigade came down with the police.
‘Two or three minutes later you could see the flames going up the stairs through the side window of the house. When the fire brigade came it was billowing smoke going up the road – it was absolutely horrible’.

Another neighbour, who didn’t want to be named, said: ‘It was terrible, just so bad. There was nothing anybody could do.’

A neighbour said Mr Philpott was later seen trying to smash the conservatory window to get back in.
Acting assistant chief constable Steve Cotterill, of Derbyshire Police, said the arrested woman was held elsewhere in the city.

He said: ‘Our thoughts are with the parents and the family of the children for their tragic loss and for the community of Allenton, who would of course have known the children.
'I want to stress that we are keeping an open mind in terms of the investigation. The arrests are only one aspect of the inquiry.

'It is paramount that we have a thorough investigation of the scene before we determine the cause of the fire.
'People in the community have been very cooperative and I'm really appreciative for all the help and support we have had as we investigate this tragedy.'

He said officers were working with the fire service to identify the cause of the blaze.
Mr Cotterill said eight people were living in the house permanently, though there might be other people who stayed there from time to time.
Neighbours in Allenton mourning the deaths of the five children have now set up a charity to help pay for their funerals.

Bobby Sutherland, who has lived on the same estate all his life, was inspired to set up an online charity called Catch Me When I Fall because of the children.
Mr Sutherland said: 'The original statement was about the kids.

'Everybody's got kids, everybody wants kids or everybody's had kids, so it affects everybody.'
He said people should not judge Mr Philpott because 'he loved his kids', adding: 'You make mistakes but you don't deserve that. Nobody deserves that.'

A special church service was held this morning at St George's Roman Catholic Church, where Mr Philpott and his family were in the congregation.

Dozens of floral tributes and messages were laid at their house throughout the day.
In 2006, when Mr Philpott asked Derby city council for a bigger council home, the authority said nothing suitable was available.

Mr Philpott then took part in a television show on ITV called Ann Widdecombe Versus The Benefits Culture.
As part of the series, the MP spent a week with the Philpotts and found him a job, although he did not attend on his first day.

Ms Widdecombe said of Mr Philpott: 'Nobody would ever call him a bad father. I'm so sorry to hear the news and my thoughts are with the family.'

He has also appeared on the Jeremy Kyle show after being branded ‘Britain’s biggest scrounger’.
Yesterday, the council refused to comment on the case because of the police investigation, but a spokesman offered the authority’s ‘deepest sympathy’ to the family over their loss.

Derbyshire Police said post-mortem exams will be carried out today to determine each of the children's cause of death.
A Facebook advert and email account - appeals@derbyshire.pnn.police.uk - has been set up by the force to take information about the investigation.

JTF arrests suspected Yoruba Boko Haram leader

JTF soldier

Hello Friends!

The Joint Security Task Force, on Friday, arrested a middle-aged man suspected to be a leader of the Boko Haram Islamic sect at Farawa Babban Layi, Maiduguri Road, Kano.

A source close to the JTF gave the suspect’s name as Mohammed Sulaiman. He is believed to be a native of Ogbomoso Oyo State.

The source told our correspondent that the sect leader claimed he was originally slated for the number two position in the sect, but for circumstances he refused to disclose.

Suleiman was arrested along with his wife and five children before he was handed over to security operatives, who were said to have been sent from Abuja.

He was immediately flown to Abuja for interrogation.

The source said, “Some of the items recovered from the suspect include an AK-47 rifle, one pistol, 10 Improvised Explosive Devices and 1,000 pieces of live ammunition.”

However, Commissioner of Police, Kano State Command, Alhaji Ibrahim Idris confirmed that a high profile arrest had been made, and that interrogation was ongoing.

Robbers steal N20m from govt vault

Acting Inspector-General of Police, Mohammed Abubakar

Hello Friends!

The office of the Ogun State Internal Revenue Service was in the early hours of Friday burgled by hoodlums who made away with N20m.

The robbers were said to have broken in through the windows of the Parastatal Building headquarters of the Ogun IRS at about 2am on Friday.

The building is about 100 metres away from the Governor’s Office, Oke Mosan and shares office with the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps.

The robbers were said to be about five in number.

A source within the IRS, who pleaded anonymity, confirmed the incident and alleged that the burgled vault contained about N20m.

The source wondered why the burglary occurred when the IRS had such a huge amount in its vault.

Also confirming the incident, the Police Public Relations Officer in the state, Mr. Muyiwa Adejobi said the police had already arrested the guards who were on duty when the burglary occurred.

Adejobi, an assistant superintendent of police, added that the arrested guards were being interrogated.

The PPRO said, “It is true that some people burgled the IRS office and made away with some amount of money. We have already swung into action. We have with us the guards who were supposed to be on duty that night. We are questioning and investigating them.

“We cannot confirm the amount of cash stolen from the IRS office but by the time the complainant finishes writing his statement, we’ll be able to ascertain the exact amount and deduce some other helpful information.”

Rihanna & Chris Brown Have ’50/50 Chance’ Of Reuniting

Chris Brown and Rihanna Back Together

Hello Friends!

Despite the fact that they unfollowed each other, a source close to the couple tells HollywoodLife.com there is still a chance the couple will reunite! Do you think we’ll see that?

Rihanna and Chris Brown have had anything but an easy relationship. Now, a source close to Rihanna tells Hollywoodlife.com exclusively that despite their constant fighting and history of abuse, the infamous couple may be willing to give their relationship a yet ANOTHER shot.

“They both still have feelings for each other but Chris is tired of the chase and sick of all of Rihanna’s manipulating of his feelings,” our source says. “She knows how to push his buttons and Chris is actually seeing that he has been taking Karrueche [Tran] for granted and wants to focus more on her, since Karrueche doesn’t bullsh**t him.”

Rihanna likes to toy with Chris’s head with all her recent back and forth Twitter insults. Our insider says her sexy photos and cryptic insults directed at Chris are just one way she’s trying to get his compete attention.

“This Twitter thing was another Rihanna move to screw with Chris’s head,” the source explains. “If history repeats itself, he will start talking to her again if he hasn’t already.”

However, Chris’ mean-spirited lyrics may be the final straw for the already fragile Rihanna. She can handle the slight Twitter insults, but accusing her of laxed sexual morals may have caused irreparable damage between the two.

“If anything will make them lose their connection, it will be the song he did and this un-following fiasco,” our insider says. “It’s currently 50/50 on what the next stage of heir relationship will be.”

But the fire and ice couple is notorious for acting on impulse rather than thinking things through. The source says both of them are, “Reactions first, and thinking what they do second type of people.”

While we think that unlucky in love Rihanna should put Chris Brown in her past, we want to know what YOU think! Do you think Rihanna and Chris should give their love another chance?

YEKINI: How Abacha, team-mates contributed to Yekini’s demise

Hello Friends!

Not many know about the humble beginning of the naïve boy from Ira in Kwara State of Nigeria. Some versions have it that he was just a car spray painter while another version says he was a corner street vulcaniser, helping to repair punctured tyres of vehicles in Kaduna.

What most later found out was that he played in the Nigerian league for United Nigeria Textile Limited, UNTL Football Club of Kaduna between 1981 and 1982 from where he joined Shooting Stars of Ibadan. It may have been at Shooting Stars, fondly called Up sootin by its fans, that Yekini was spotted by Chief Adegboye Onigbinde who drafted him into the then Green Eagles squad preparaing for the 1984 Africa Nations Cup in Cote d’Ivoire.

He did not feature prominently in that squad which lost 1-3 to Cameroon in the final. He was again in the Eagles squad for the Maroc ’88 edition but like in ’84, Yekini was still learning the ropes from his more senior colleagues and did not ‘shine’ much.

His climb to glory began in a fast pace at the 1990 and 1992 editions of the Nations Cup in Algeria and Senegal where the Eagles bagged silver and bronze respectively, of course courtesy of Yekini’s goalscoring prowess which had blossomed.

Nigeria had never qualified for the World Cup but Super Eagles coach, Clemens Westerhof who came in after the 1990 ticket loss to Cameroon saw the potential in Yekini and thus built his team around the six footer who fans gave the sobriquet, ‘gangling’.

Driver dies after making passes at club girl

Hello Friends!

While many football fans in Nigerians were rejoicing over the outcome of the English Premier League match between Chelsea and Manchester City on the night of March 21, 2012, it was different strokes for Bolaji Jimoh.

Unknown to Jimoh, who was said to be a private driver to a man simply known as Babatunde, tragedy loomed.

CRIME DIGEST gathered that on that Wednesday, he had driven his boss and a relation to a nightclub in the Ajah area of Lagos.

Describing what happened at the club, a source close to the police said, “At about 2 am, Babatunde sent his cousin and Jimoh on an errand somewhere around Ajah. Just as Jimoh was about to drive off, a young girl working at the nightclub requested a ride in the vehicle. Jimoh agreed and the girl went with the two men.

“However, when both men got to where Babatunde had sent them, the story changed. While Babatunde’s cousin went to get what he had been sent, the young girl waited in the car with Jimoh.

“As soon as they were alone, Jimoh began making passes at the girl and she rebuffed him. When he persisted, the girl picked up her cell-phone and called her boss, the owner of the nightclub. She told him where she was and complained that one of his customer’s drivers who had given her a ride was harassing her sexually.”

Parents 'buried baby girl alive to protect their other children from serious illnesses' in India

Slum children.

Grinding poverty: Female children are often viewed as an economic burden in India and the mortality rate of female children is one of the highest in the world. Picture posed by models.

Hello Friends!

A father has been arrested on suspicion of attempted murder after allegedly being caught burying his baby girl alive in the belief it would protect his other children from illness.

It is understood a local guru instructed him to bury the girl, then six weeks old, as a means off warding off further bad luck after the family lost another child to illness last year.
A worker at a burial ground in Pilkhuwa, 100 kilometres south-west of New Delhi, alerted police after he saw two men trying to bury a baby.

Police allegedly found the child's father and her uncle, also being held on suspicion of attempted murder, in the midst of burying the child in a shallow grave.

The baby, Radhika, now two months old, is in hospital recovering from dehydration and malnutrition.
In what could be the third such case in the last month, a local journalist has blamed poverty and illiteracy for the persistence of superstitions.

Radhika's mother Bharati denies any involvement, saying: 'Tell me which mother would want to kill her own child,' reports the BBC.
But graveyard caretaker Sriram Kore said: 'There, you can still see the signs,' indicating a half-dug grave.

He says he found Radhika's father and uncle digging the grave beside ritual offerings.
'They had a little bundle with them - a dead girl they said they wanted to bury.
'But I could see she was alive. So I called the police immediately,' Mr Kore told the BBC.

A child peeks from a window in the slums.

Superstition: A child peeks from a window in the slums, where traditional beliefs  often promoted by gurus, can still hold sway

Police have so far not been able to trace the guru allegedly involved.
In India, female children are often regarded as a burden because tradition requires large dowry fees to be paid to the other family when they are married.

The country has among the highest female infant mortality rates in the world.
The ratio in the 2011 census was 914 girls for every 1,000 boys, in comparison to 950 girls for every 1,000 boys worldwide.

Local journalist Mohammad Naseem says he has covered dozens of similar stories, including three in the past month alone.

Controversy Over Baby Born With Quran

Hello Friends!

A big controversy is raging in Lagos following the birth of a baby boy said to be clutching a miniature Holy Quran at birth. The baby was born at a white garment church in Mushin, Lagos State, Southwest Nigeria.

The mystery baby. Inset: The miniature Holy Quran

While some dispute the claim, others say it is possible. A large crowd gathered at 1, Sonde Street, Ijeshatedo, Lagos home of the boy’s parents yesterday, as news of the birth spread rapidly.

His mother, Mrs. Kikelomo Ilori, 32, a Cosmetologist, told P.M.NEWS that he was born on Monday after she had carried the pregnancy for about 10 months. The single mother claimed she was abandoned by her husband who denied responsibility for the pregnancy and encouraged her to abort it. The woman told P.M.NEWS yesterday: “When I refused to abort the pregnancy, he deserted me, saying ‘that is your own problem’.” Mrs. Ilori expressed surprise at the birth of the boy. She added that the nurse who delivered her of the baby was physically challenged, but went about it commendably.

“When my baby was delivered holding a Quran in his hand, the nurse said the Quran should be thrown away. But I insisted my mother must see it before any action could be taken,” Kikelomo, who is a Christian, further explained.

Corroborating the story, Senior Rev. Victoria Yetunde Dada said during the pregnancy, Kikelomo was always coming to her for prayers and counselling.

“I advised her not to abort the pregnancy because she might die in the process. Again, I told her the foetus was sent by God and will be great,” Apostle Mother Dada told our correspondent. Controversy has continued to trail the seemingly spurious claim.

Reacting, Medical Director of Bodet Hospital, Ikeja, Lagos, Dr. Bode Tawak said scientifically, it was not possible for a baby to be born holding a Quran.

“How big is the baby’s hand to hold the Quran? How big is the Quran? How did the Quran get into her mother’s womb? I don’t know how a Quran can get into a womb. But there are things you can’t explain,” Dr. Tawak responded. He said while the incident cannot be explained medically, in Nigeria many mysterious things happen. A Kaduna-based medical practitioner, Dr. Munir Yusuf said from a medical point of view, it was not possible, but added that depending on the size of the Quran, it was possible metaphysically.

He explained that if the Quran is small enough to pass through the diameter of the vagina, with the child, it is possible. In the same vein, a herbal medicine practitioner, Chief Dr. Bola Adegunloye believes nothing is impossible, but said too much importance must not be placed on the incident.

BREAKING NEWS: Guilty! Jennifer Hudson's brother-in-law of murdering her mother, brother, and nephew, 7

Hello Friends!

A Chicago jury has convicted Oscar-winner Jennifer Hudson's former brother-in-law of murdering her mother, brother and 7-year-old nephew in what prosecutors described as an act of vengeance by a jilted husband.

The jury convicted 31-year-old William Balfour on three-counts of first degree murder on Friday, after three days of deliberations. He faces a mandatory sentence of life in prison.
Prosecutors had to build an overwhelming circumstantial case tying Balfour to the killings because there were no surviving witnesses. Defense attorneys claimed the killings could have been related to Hudson's brother's alleged drug dealing.

Hudson was the first witness called to the stand and she attended every day of testimony.

Balfour would face a mandatory life prison sentence if convicted on all counts.
Prosecutors say he killed the three victims in a jealous rage after his then-estranged wife, Hudson's sister Julia Hudson, refused to reconcile with him.

Defense attorneys argued the evidence tying Balfour to the October 2008 killings is circumstantial.
The announcement about the verdict came after jurors sent the judge a note saying they were split on the verdict. The jury did not say it was giving up, though.
'We are trying,' jurors said in their note.

With no surviving witnesses to the Oct. 24, 2008, slayings, prosecutors built a circumstantial case against Balfour by calling 83 witnesses over 11 days of testimony.

Witnesses said he threatened to kill the entire family if Julia Hudson spurned him.
Balfour's attorneys proposed an alternate theory: that someone else in the crime-ridden neighborhood on Chicago's South Side targeted the family because of alleged crack-cocaine dealing by Jennifer Hudson's brother, Jason Hudson.

During the 30 minutes in which they called just two witnesses, however, they presented no evidence to support that theory.

The killings occurred the morning after Julia Hudson's birthday, and prosecutors said he became enraged when he stopped by the home and saw a gift of balloons in the house from her new boyfriend.

After his estranged wife left for her job as a bus driver on the morning of Oct. 24, 2008, prosecutors say Balfour went back inside the home with a .45-caliber handgun and shot Hudson's mother, Darnell Donerson, 57, in the back; he allegedly then shot Jason Hudson, 29, twice in the head as he lay in bed.

Prosecutors say Balfour then drove off in Jason Hudson's SUV with Julia's son, Julian King, and shot the boy several times in the head as he lay behind a front seat.
His body was found in the abandoned vehicle miles away after a three-day search.

Teenage girl who weighed just six stone wrongly diagnosed with eating disorder when she had a deadly brain tumour

Hello Friends!

A teenager weighing just six stone was wrongly diagnosed as an anorexic by doctors when she actually had a potentially deadly brain tumour.

Nichole Bain, 19, was suffering from severe headaches and sickness when she visited her GP in Blackburn, Lancashire.

At the time she had to wear clothes that normally fit an 11-year-old, and her doctor mistakenly thought she had an eating disorder.

When her symptoms failed to go away, Miss Bain sought the opinions of other doctors and she was referred to a neurologist.

Nichole BainNichole Bain

Changes: Nichole Bain weighed just six stone (right) when as a 15-year-old she was wrongly diagnosed as an anorexic by doctors when she actually had a potentially deadly brain tumour. She is now healthy again (left)

She was stunned to be told she needed an emergency brain scan, just days before she was due to fly to Turkey on holiday.
Tests showed Miss Bain had a malignant brain tumour the size of a 50p coin - and if she had flown on a plane, the air pressure would likely have exacerbated her condition.

Miss Bain underwent an operation to remove the tumour.
She then endured two months of chemotherapy and radiotherapy, losing her long hair, before she was finally told that the treatment had been successful.

Her mother Julie Bain, 41, said: 'We initially got nowhere but all we’re bothered about is seeing Nichole eat again and to know that the tumour has gone.

'Doctors thought she had anorexia or bulimia and each time we went it was different. When the GP said she had anorexia I just thought that a doctor can't be wrong so accepted it.
'Now she’s having a brain scan every four months for two years, then every six months for three years, then every year for five years and then every five years after that.

'There’s still a way to go yet.'

Road to recovery: Tests showed Miss Bain, pictured with her mother Julie, had a malignant brain tumour the size of a 50p coin

Miss Bain was 15 and weighed 8.5-stone when in December 2008 she began suffering from severe headaches and constant sickness.
Her doctor first said she suffered from migraines, then celiac disease and even bizarrely said she was 'standing up too fast'.

She was finally diagnosed with anorexia in April 2009 after her weight dropped to just six stone.
Mrs Bain, who is her daughter’s full-time carer, said: 'She complained of a bad headache and felt sick and was dizzy and I took her to the doctors.

'We never saw the same doctor twice so we felt frustrated that we knew something was wrong and they talked to us like we were stupid and gave us painkillers

'They always said it may be this, it may be that - they never committed to anything.
'They even said that she was dizzy because she was standing up too fast. To say that was disgusting.
'The doctor was about to send her to a psychiatrist about having an eating disorder.'

After months of feeling unwell, Miss Bain started hiding being sick from her parents because she was ashamed and thought it was her fault.
Mrs Bain said: 'All her food came straight back up, she wasn’t getting any nutrition at all. They even said that it may have been something she had eaten or she was allergic to something.

'I was only after she had the operation and I helped her out the bath that I saw just how skinny she was.'
They went to see another GP who sent her for cognitive and non-cognitive tests.

Mrs Bain said: 'The GP had a feel round Nichole’s neck and she said that she needed an emergency scan. That’s when we said that we were going to go on holiday to Turkey so they got us in for the scan the next day.
'After the scan we were going to make another appointment and we got told to wait in the treatment room. Then they came in and said, "You’ve got a brain tumour." We all had a big long cry.'

Miss Bain was admitted to Manchester Children's Hospital where she had an operation to remove the tumour.
When she came round doctors said that they had taken out 99 per cent of the tumour; the rest was destroyed by chemotherapy.

She had to go through six weeks of chemotherapy and radiotherapy before a more intensive treatment called ‘packer regime’ - before her appetite came back with a vengeance.
Since the operation, Miss Bain has had double vision in her eyes and has to have Botox injected into them to make them straight, and also has to have intensive physio to help her walk properly again.

'He is the love of my life': Mother's inspiring YouTube video about son born with severe cleft palate that left him with no eyes

Hello Friends!

A mother whose son was born with a rare form of cleft palate that left him with no eyes has made an inspiring video revealing their struggles - and how the baby boy battled their bullies with his laughter.

In the YouTube video, Lacey Buchanan, from Woodbury, Tennessee, holds up cards describing her excitement at falling pregnant with son Christian, and the fears and snide comments that followed.

During the seven-minute film, she holds one-year-old Christian into her chest, only revealing his face to the camera at end of the video as she kisses him and shows him off proudly.

The inspiring video tells the story of Lacey, who met her husband Chris when they were 15, and went on to marry him when they were 21. They fell pregnant when she was 23, one note card reads.

But a week after the discovery, doctors called the couple to say something was wrong: it appeared that their unborn child had developmental problems.

The Buchanans, who are devout Christians, refused to abort the baby, knowing they would love him and he would have a purpose. Doctors said there was an 85 per cent chance of Lacey miscarrying.
When she went to Vanderbilt Medical Center to deliver Christian in February 2011, she did not know if he would live. He survived - yet his condition was much worse than doctors had predicted.

The baby boy suffered from Tessier cleft, a rare and severe cleft palate that can affect different areas of the face - such as the nose, eyes and jaw - in addition to the mouth.

Christian had no palate, was unable to shut his mouth and was born without eyes.
At four days old, he underwent his first surgery. Through a series of operations, doctors have closed his cleft lip but his palate will require more surgeries, his mother said.

He spent four weeks in the neonatal intensive care unit at Vanderbilt Children's Hospital.

When he was finally ready to leave and returned home, 'things were hard', one of Lacey's note cards reads. She and her husband Chris were unprepared for how to raise a blind child, she explains.

WHAT IS CHRISTIAN'S CONDITION?
Christian was born with a Tessier cleft, a severe type of cleft lip and palate that is characterised by severe deformities of soft tissue and bony parts of the face.
It occurs when parts of the face do not fully fuse together while the baby is in the uterus.

There are different categories of Tessier clefts, with deformities affecting the centre of the face, the nose and eyes, or large abnormalities of the lower jaw.
It occurs in about one in 150,000 births. In her video, Lacey points out her son is one of just 50 people in the world with Tessier cleft.

Those born with the condition must undergo a series of operations due to medical problems associated with it, including breathing, eating, speaking and hearing difficulties.

She also struggled with judgmental stares and whispers from people they passed. People would ask 'What's wrong with your kid?', with one woman even telling her she was 'horrible' for not aborting him.
As Lacey, 25, struggled to stay strong, it was Christian who fought back.

When people would stare at him, he would begin to giggle - and they would start to giggle too.
'Anyone who meets Christian falls in love with him pretty quickly,' one note card reads.
She also says she knows she did the right thing not to abort him as he is 'the love of my life'.

The video has had an incredible response, which comes as a bit of a surprise to Lacey.
'I didn't expect it to be as powerful as it was, because to me it's just me and my son,' Lacey told MailOnline.
'My biggest point witht he video was that he deserves life, and he deserves everything that I am going to give him.

'I was hoping to inspire other parents who are in a situation where they found out that their child may be disabled and they are dealing with the question of whether or not to give a disabled child life.
'I wanted to just give them a little hope that it is hard at times, but there are happy times too, and the happy times so outweigh the hard times.'
She told MailOnline about how her giggly 14-month-old is incredible to watch and she gets so much joy from every day with him. One of her favorite moments is when Christian laughs- something that happens often.

'It's so funny to see him laugh because, since he can't see, anything that he finds amusing is because of sight or touch. It's just wonderful because he really knows the meaning of life's simple pleasures,' she said.
Writing on her blog,
Leading The Blind, Lacey said she was inspired to make the video after she saw another YouTube film by a woman named Lizzie, who had also suffered judgemental comments for her looks.

Lacey, who is a law student studying in Nashville, said Lizzie's condition meant her facial features were distorted and she struggled to gain weight. She, too, revealed her face at the end of the film.

'This inspired me so much because I can relate to knowing how it feels to look different,' she wrote. 'It may not be me that looks different, but the stares at my son hurt no less than if they were at me.'

After Lacey created the video in March, she also uploaded it to a Christian channel named GodTube and received more than 20,000 hits in one day.
'I am absolutely blown away by the response that the video has had,' she said. 'I never imagined it would be this big. Thank you so much to everyone who is supporting us in our journey!'

'My Facebook has exploded with messages and friend requests by people who were moved by Christian's story,' she told MailOnline.
'Everybody has juse been really positive saying how beautiful Christian is and we have had the opposite experience quite a lot so it is awesome to see other people besides my family- who already know that he is beautiful- see that too.'
Lacey plans to finish law school, largely because her son has prompted her to specialize in disability advocacy law, because 'I want to be able to help people like Christian'.

Hello Friends!

Janet Jackson is flying the flag for the Neverland kingdom in honour of late brother Michael.
The That's The Way Love Goes singer looked incredibly young and graceful as she showed off her ever-changing figure on the red carpet at the Marcho Glaviano 'Supermodels' exhibition opening.

Posing outside the Keszier Gallery in New York, Janet rolled back the years in defiance of approaching her 46th birthday in just five days time next Wednesday.

The King of Pop's younger sister appeared happy in her own skin - of which there wasn't that much.
Despite years of yo-yo dieting, the Grammy-winner looked particularly svelte in smart/casual attire.
Janet opted for blue jeans, together with a revealing black and gold shirt that exposed her cleavage.
Having confessed to being an 'emotional eater', the 45-year-old is now the face of Nutrisystem.

In the commercial, released last month, a newly-slim Janet said: 'This is what success looks like'.

It don't matter if your fat or thin: Janet's weight has yo-yoed over the years, before she became the face of NutrisystemJanet

It don't matter if your fat or thin: Janet's weight has yo-yoed over the years, before becoming the face of Nutrisystem, she tipped the scales at 180lbs (12st 12lbs) in January 2006 as she hid beneath tracksuits.

Back in 2006, she weighed 180lbs (12st 12lbs) before slimming down. However following the death of sibling Michael three years later, she began to pile on the pounds again.
She has championed the brand on Twitter, simply saying: 'Nutrisystem works. #SUCCESS'

In her book, True You, release last year, the Indiana-born star wrote: 'For more than three decades, I’ve struggled with yo-yo dieting. Some of my battles with weight have been very public.
'But most of them have been internal. Even at my thinnest, when my body was being praised, I wasn’t happy with what I saw in the mirror or how I felt about myself.'

Her calls are heard by several Chinese men who come to her aid and physically attack the foreign national while one films the summary justice.

Chinese police said they arrested a 'drunk' British suspect shortly after the incident.

A Beijing Public Security Bureau official said the suspect, who has not been named, holds a tourist visa.

British Embassy spokesman told MailOnline: 'We are aware of the reports about this incident and the claims that the suspect in detention is British.

'But we have not been contacted by Chinese police or anybody else at this stage. We are monitoring the situation.'

In the film, which last night had been viewed by three million viewers, the alleged sex attacker is beaten and left with his clothes torn lying unconscious in the middle of a busy road.

Traffic is shown having to navigate around him. The Chinese men are then seen jumping on him and calling him obscene names and derogatory racist terms for a foreigner.

Tens of thousands of Chinese have expressed anger online, with many demanding police make an example of the 'foreigner' and punish him severely.

If found guilty of attempted rape, the suspect, who has not been named, could face three to ten years in prison under Chinese law. Rape carries the death penalty in China.
