Boko Haram: Rep faults Mark over calls for dialogue

Senate President, David Mark

Hello Friends!

A member of the House of Representatives, Mr. Bitrus Kaze, has faulted Senate President David Mark’s call for dialogue with Boko Haram as a way of ending the spate of terror attacks in the country.

The lawmaker, who represents Jos South/Jos East, said any dialogue with Boko Haram would encourage other groups to resort to taking to arms struggle

He advised President Goodluck Jonathan not to yield to any form of intimidation to dialogue with any terrorist group in the country.

Kaze asked Jonathan to take a cue from how former President Umaru Yar’Adua handled the Niger Delta crisis.

He said, “Despite the fact that I hold Senate President David Mark in high regards and given his brilliant military background, his views, especially on security matters ought not to be taken for granted.

“However, I beg to completely disagree with him on this one. Government must never entertain any form of dialogue whatsoever with Boko Haram or any terrorist groups however called.”
