Defiant J-Lo rocks sexy bondage dress and 'Love' necklace on American Idol live show just hours after Marc Anthony files for divorce

Today might have come with some form of sad (to some) news for Jennifer Lopez, but she seems to be taking it all so well...I think...

With the news that her husband has filed for divorce just hours old, Jennifer Lopez had to take to the stage for a live American Idol show tonight like it was business as usual.

They’ve been estranged for nine months, but this was a seven year union… one that bore the 42-year-old superstar beloved twins Max and Emme, now four, so it’s unlikely her day wasn’t weighed with a certain level of sadness.

But Lopez would be damned if she let it show.

Ever the professional, the diva literally stormed the stage in an eye-popping leather and mesh bondage dress.

She looked sensational, even her make-up was absolutely perfect... just dramatic enough to scream bombshell.

And around her neck, the piece de resistance was a delicate silver necklace which simply spelled out the word: 'Love.''

It said it all, without her needing to utter a word and left nobody in any doubt that this is a woman who will not be done down even by such a potentially melancholy moment.

She is strong, she is defiant… but at the core of her, Lopez wants us to know she hasn’t given up on love… her stylist deserves a bonus for the entire concoction.

Jiggling her bosom seductively, Lopez also flashed a sparkling cocktail ring where her wedding band had once been, and offered not a hint of inner turmoil.

It was an impressive display of stoicism, and one that impressed her wannabe acolytes.

E! caught up with the contestants after the show, and they were effusive about how the Dance Again star had coped.

‘I'm sure Jennifer is handling things fine, Skylar Laine told them. ‘She's Jennifer Lopez, she can do what she wants!’

Meanwhile Colton had no idea that the divorce had even been announced

‘I didn't know that,’ he said. ‘Yikes. Jennifer is a superstar. I never would have known from her attitude that news [on her divorce] was released today. She's such a class act. We all love Jennifer. She's so genuine, she's a very independent woman and she knows how to handle herself that way.’

They also dished on Jennifer’s new beau, Casper Smart, 25, who may be the reason for her cheerful disposition in the face of marital failure.

‘They're cute together,’ Jessica Sanchez told E!

‘We've seen Casper,’ Skylar added. ‘I've never met him, but I've seen him. He wears sunglasses a lot. It's whatever she wants. I'm sure he's a nice guy. She looks taller than him which is kind of funny. Maybe it's her heels.




Love is the answer: Jennifer wore a necklace that featured just the word 'love,' it was a small detail against the tough and sexy dress... but a pertinent and artfully chosen accessory.
