Bomb-laden Vehicle Discovered In Kano

Hello Friends!

On Easter Sunday, it was Kaduna State Nigeria, now it could be Kano State? Why are people so heartless? What do they want? Boko Haram! What exactly are you killing innocent men, women and children for?

What is your gain or fulfillment? Is this what Islam teaches? In as much as no one might answer these questions clearly, I feel pained each time I read any of these stories...

The Joint Task Force, JTF, in Kano northwest Nigeria, Monday detonated impoverished explosives device, IED, concealed inside an abandoned vehicle parked along Zaria Road within the heart of the city.

According to an eyewitness account, “we noticed the vehicle early this morning, parked by the side of the road without anyone inside. We kept on monitoring the vehicle for about three hours before we alerted soldiers in a near-by checkpoint who came and ransacked the vehicle only to discover explosives inside.”

Lieutenant Ikedichi Iweha, spokesman of Kano JTF, said quick intervention of his men saved the situation.

“This morning, the JTF discovered the vehicle laden with explosives. My men hurriedly rushed to the area and in the process, they were able to detonate the explosives. As am talking to you, we thank God that nothing happened. The area has been cordoned off and the vehicle moved for safe keeping,” he said.

The incident, however, caused panic among Kano residents who were already apprehensive following the Easter Sunday explosion in the neighbouring state of Kaduna.

Kano remains calm and peaceful as at the time of filing this report as people were moving about their normal business, while security operatives remain on red alert.
