Hello Friends!
The Chief Executive Officer, Logon Technologies, Chris Onwuka, on Tuesday said most organisations with Close Circuit Televisions in Nigeria do not make optimal and effective use of them as a surveillance system.
Onwuka attributed the development to dearth of technical capabilities.
He spoke during a two-day training session for security personnel and technicians on CCTV installations, usage and maintenance in Lagos.
Onwuka said, “Sometimes these CCTVs are not even working after so much money has been committed to them. The problem is that we have a whole lot of technicians in the industry but they lack the requisite expertise.”
A participant, Navy Capt. James Okosun, said the training was an eye opener.
He said, “As a result of this training, I have been exposed to those essential factors one overlooks on many occasions while installing a CCTV.”
A female participant from Shell Nigeria, Joko Olanitori, said the session had afforded her the opportunity of knowing how to plan for and achieve her organisation’s surveillance objectives.
