Hello Friends!
Yaba Magistrate’s Court in Lagos on Monday adjourned till June 6, further mention in the case of a football coach charged with the murder of his girlfriend.

Magistrate Olalekan Bashorun adjourned the case for advice of the state’s Director of Public Prosecutions, the News Agency of Nigeria reports.

When the case was mentioned on Monday, Bashorun held that the DPP’s advice would be ready within three week.

He ordered that the coach, Emmanuel Temuru, should remain in prison custody, pending the DPP’s advice.

Temuru was arraigned on March 30 for the murder of Miss Margaret Usen, who he had allegedly impregnated.

The court could not take Temuru’s plea as the magistrate said he needed the DPP’s advice.

The prosecutor, Philip Ugbodu, told the court that Usen died after drinking and bathing with herbal concoction given to her at a clinic where Temuru took her.

Ugbodu, a police inspector, had noted that the offence contravened Section 319 of the Criminal Code, Laws of Lagos State.

Culled from Punch Metro.
