Actor Laurence Fishburne had an unwelcome visitor on New Year's Day when an ex-convict turned up at his Californian home and tried to evict him and his family.
Brazen Anthony Francis, whose real name is Mark Francisco, told Fishburne's actress wife Gina Torres Fishburne, they were living in the Los Angeles house illegally sparking the family to seek a temporary restraining order on January 1.
The order requires Francisco to stay 100 yards from the Oscar-nominated actor and his wife and daughter.
The couple were forced to call the police who advised the family to seek a restraining order based on Francisco's agitated behaviour and previous history, court records show.
Francisco also left a handwritten letter threatening to evict the Fishburnes and called police to try to get them to leave, the filings state.
Fishburne and his wife have owned their home for 10 years.
Their lawyer, Donald Etra, said: 'This is a case of stalking and the judge had no problem in issuing a temporary restraining order to stop it.'

The temporary restraining order was granted on Thursday and a court hearing for a three-year restraining order is scheduled for January 23.
According to records Francisco has a 1993 conviction for burglary in San Diego.
He was also sentenced to serve two years in state prison on a cyberstalking conviction in 2010 and spent time in a state mental hospital.
He pleaded no contest to cyberstalking after being found competent to stand trial.
Fishburne starred in The Matrix series and was nominated for a best actor Academy Award in 1993 for What's Love Got to Do with It.
His wife is known for her role in 24 as well as other movies and television series.
Attempts to reach Francisco for comment were unsuccessful.
