Hello Friends!

Last week Justin Bieber attempted to put controversy behind him when he asked his fans for forgiveness after photos emerged of the singer allegedly smoking what is now thought to be marijuana.

But now a new 'Cutting for Bieber' trend on Twitter has taken the incident to a whole new and sick level.

A morbid and dangerous mock campaign started by online pranksters urged Bieber fans to self-harm themselves in protest to the controversial images of the pop star.
Twitter users and Bieber fans have since been posting graphic images, including ones of themselves with slashed wrists, surrounded by blades and blood, with some unknown to be real or fake.

Coined #cut4bieber, the hashtag has now become the top U.S Trend on Twitter.
The trend began when 4chan users launched a campaign dubbed #CutForBieber in mock protest to Bieber's alleged marijuana use.

'Lets start a cut yourself for bieber campaign,' an anonymous user wrote on the site's message board. 'Tweet a bunch of pics of people cutting themselves and claim we did it because bieber was smoking weed.'

The message board has since been removed.
The internet trolls also created fake Twitter accounts, pretending to be teenage girls who were posting images of themselves with cut arms, stating that they were self-mutilating themselves in a bid to stop Bieber from smoking marijuana.

What subsequently followed were a slew of other photos posted by Twitter users and alleged Bieber fans, doing the same, most clearly fake, but other very life like.

Since becoming aware of the trend, fellow Twitter fan Miley Cyrus has now weighed in on the subject, begging individuals to put an end to it.

She retweeted on Monday: '#cut4bieber? Cutting is NOT something to joke about. There are people who are actually suffering from self-harm, this is so disrespectful.'

The initial controversy surrounding Bieber emerged last Friday when TMZ released images of the teen heartthrob puffing on a suspicious cigarette the website claimed contained the illicit drug on the day a paparazzo was killed attempting to photograph him.

In the pictures, which TMZ say were taken on January 2, Justin is seen holding what appears to be a roll-up as he chats with friends inside a hotel room in Newport Beach, California.

Though he didn't address the incident directly, Bieber's series of Twitter admissions early last Saturday morning were telling enough.

'Everyday growing and learning. trying to be better. u get knocked down, u get up,' he posted.
He continued, addressing his Beliebers directly and acknowledging he had let his young fans down: 'i see all of u. i hear all of u. i never want to let any of you down. i love u. and..thank u. #beliebers'

The Boyfriend singer then finished off his heart-to-heart, making a resolution for change in the new year.

'Like i said...2013...new challenges. new doubters...Im ready. We are ready. see u all tomorrow and everyday after that. #BELIEVEtour,' he said.
And on the day the photos were taken, but not yet released, Bieber opened up on his Twitter account with a cryptic New Year's resolution.

'another year. another year to be doubted. another year to work hard and prove them wrong. another year we are coming out of the gate strong,' he wrote.

Meanwhile, it has also emerged that Justin's entourage ensure they regularly put a sign up in various places with a disclaimer stating that any pictures taken in the venue belong to the singer and NOT the individuals who take them.

TMZ says that it is a clever attempt by the singer's management to contain any risque antics he may get involved in.

Various situations, including the hotel incident, are also meant to be manged by Justin's security at the time.
But during the hotel get together last week, sources close to the controversy told TMZ that the snappers did not see a sign nor were they approached by his security team.
