Keagan Wins BBA, Becomes U.S.$300,000 Richer

Hello Friends!

After 91 days, 35 housemates, 14 partners and seven celebrities., the Big Brother StarGame 2012 came to an end with South African Keagan, 22, emerging the winner of the $300,000 star prize money following the eviction of his five fellow housemates. Kenyan rapper Prezzo was the fifth Housemate to go home, leaving Keagan as the winning StarMate of Big Brother Africa show.

Lady May‘s eviction left Keagan and Kenya’s Prezzo for the final two. Days before the winner of the BBA was announced, there was anxiety as no one was sure who would win among the last six finalists, comprising Talia (Zambia), Prezzo (Kenya), Wati (Malawi), Keagan (South Africa), Lady May (Namibia) and Kyle (Uganda).

At the heart of the StarGame finale was charismatic series host IK Osakioduwa, who was ably assisted on the night by Channel O VJ and vibrant entertainment personality Denrele Edun, who ran festivities at the specially constructed fan park right outside the studio.
Superstar Nigerian performer D’ Banj, fresh from the success of his sensational global hit, Oliver Twist, was joined by East African hip hop powerhouse Navio (Uganda), sizzling South African MC Khuli Chana and award-winning Ghanaian hip-life king Sarkodie while Nigeria’s phenomenal Afro-pop star Naeto C gave the audience some to cheer.

The StarGist show of the event was presented by co-hosts Vimbai Mutinhiri (Zimbabwe) and Lawrence Maleka (SA) who interviewed former StarGame housemates, fans and business executives, such as M-Net Africa Managing Director Biola Alabi and Olufemi Ashipa, Brand Manager, Coca Cola Nigeria.

Kyle, the Ugandan, was not seen as a big contender for the big prize like others. Kyle was out of the running for the incredible $300 000 prize. He entered the game in Downville, alongside partner Jannette, who was sadly evicted in the final week of StarGame.
Kyle had initially told his fellow Housemates he would share his prize with Jannette if he won. Wati was also sent packing. His dreams of pocketing the prize money went up in smoke. The Malawian Housemate entered the game as a pair, alongside his cousin Nafe, who did not even smell Upville.

Wati was the resident StarGame clown, alongside his buddy Keagan. It was also the end of the road for Uganda’s Kyle. Earlier before the eviction, Malonza,Goldie Alex,Janette and some of the other evicted housemates from the big brother africa star game also came up on stage as IK anchor had short interview with them.

The gang jumped on the Live Stage for a short Q&A session with StarGame host, IK. Goldie, Jannette, Alex,Keitta, Malonza and Junia all climbed onto the stage, looking as glamorous as ever.
Prezzo and keagan did exceptionally throughout their 91 day stay in the Big Brother House. These two were the resident Don Juan’s of the house. Prezzo let a little love into his heart by hooking up for the most epic and arguably the most tumultuous of the StarGame season.

Keagan on the other hand, started off in Downville and made his way to the top of the pile in Upville. Just last week, the South African found love int he arms of Zambia’s Talia. In this year’s edition, 14 partners with an existing form of relationship graced the Big Brother StarGame show in one of two houses called Downville.

The 28 participants were from Uganda (Kyle and Janette), Kenya (Alex and Malonza), Tanzania (Hilda and Julio), South Africa (Keagan and Lee), Zambia (Tamara and Talia), Malawi (Nafe and Wati), Namibia (Junia and Jesica), Liberia (Yadel and Luke), Ghana (Mildred and Keitta), Nigeria (Ola and Chris), Angola (Seydou and Esperanca), Botswana (Edith and Eve), Zimbabwe (Maneta and Teclar) and Sierra Leone (Dalphin and Zainab).

Then, another seven celebrity participants from Kenya (Prezzo), Ghana (DKB), South Africa (Barbz), Nigeria (Goldie), Zambia (Mampi), Zimbabwe (Roki) and Namibia (Lady May) were tucked away in another house called Upville. Week by week, Africa saw their representatives knocked out of arguably the most popular and longest reality TV game show on the continent.

Culled from BigBrotherAfrica.
