At least two students of the Igbinedion University in Okada, Edo state were on Sunday beheaded while several others were injured when suspected ex militants who are also students of the institution clashed with other students suspected to be cult members.
The clash which reportedly started at about 7am continued until about 4pm with properties worth millions of naira destroyed in the process.
Eye witnesses said the attackers invaded the institutions and started shooting sporadically, destroying cars and blocking the main gate of the school.
The attackers also blocked the major road between Usen and Okada junction at Ovia North East local government area of Edo State.
The course of the clash could not be immediately. However, the police have moved into the campus, in an attempt to restore order.
There are about 200 ex-militants on admission at the Igbinedion University, Okada under the Federal Government amnesty programme.
