Disdain: Millions of viewers were obsessed with the Twilight couple, but Robert Pattinson doesn't understand their fascination...
Hello Friends!
It is the franchise that made him famous and earned him millions, but still Robert Pattinson marvels at why people are so obsessed with the Twilight saga.
The blunt British actor told the German edition of Interview magazine that he didn't understand the level of fan fascination and even questioned 'what these masses of people do the whole day'.
Pattinson, 27, told the publication: 'The real odd thing about this Twilight target group is that they aren’t really teenagers. Most of them are older.

'Twilight has its own parallel world, its own fan culture that has been forming on the net since day one,' he went on.
'And in an intense way that has never existed before. Sometimes I ask myself what these masses of people do the whole day.
'They sit in front of their computers and comment on anything having even remotely to do with Twilight.'
The Water For Elephant star's apparent disdain for Twihards is just the latest harsh words he has voiced against the franchise created by Stephanie Meyer, after he once described her work as 'a book that wasn't supposed to be published.'
Brooding Brit: Currently on set of Map To The Stars, Pattinson's career has taken a more serious, mature path...Kristen Stewart's ex-boyfriend was also angry at the reporter who came up with the nickname R-Patz. 'I'd like to strangle the guy who came up with it!' Pattinson said, reported InTouch.
According to the magazine, the actor would only refer to the aforementioned guy as 'some fat celebrity blogger.'
Last year he told TODAY show host Savannah Guthrie: 'I don't understand what the nickname culture is... If I could figure out a way to get rid of that, it'd be amazing. It does sound like an antacid tablet.'
Moving on: Robert is turning his back on Twilight as he now plays the part of Jerome on the Los Angeles set of Map To The Stars...
Currently filming the David Cronenberg thriller, Map To The Stars, in Los Angeles, the London-born actor seems determined to put his breakout character of Edward Cullen behind him and focus on serious roles.
Along with acting, Pattinson reportedly wants to break into the music scene. 'Rob’s number one priority right now is his career, in particular music,' a source told HollywoodLife.com
'He’s heavily invested in his music career and it will only be a matter of time that he has a number one hit on his hands. He’s that talented and that passionate about making this happen. Rob is a very humble, deep, thoughtful person and music is his way of expressing his authentic self.'
No more nicknames: Robert even hates being called R-Patz, and said he wanted to strangle the 'fat celebrity blogger' who made it up...
'It’s very important to him that he not be defined by the Twilight movies, or his relationship with Kristen,' added the insider.
One way he is doing both is by dating rock star royalty in the form of Elvis Presley's 24-year-old granddaughter, Riley Keough.
The MailOnline last month confirmed the Hollywood heartthrob's romantic link to the beautiful redhead, who appeared with Kristen in the 2010 drama The Runaways about the 1970s all-girl Los Angeles rock band of the same name.
