Flying high: Justin Bieber is the latest star to sign up for a trip to space with Virgin Galactic...
Hello Friends!
His antics often lead people to say he’s living on another planet, while his fans say he’s out of this world.
So it’s no surprise that Justin Bieber has become the latest star who is set to literally mingle with the stars as he’s signed up for a trip to space.
The 19-year-old and his manager Scooter Braun have been welcomed to the Virgin Galactic programme by Sir Richard Branson, who publicly announced the two would be flying way above the earth.
The announcement online was the latest addition of stars, who include Ashton Kutcher and Leonardo DiCaprio, who have paid the $250,0000 deposit fee to get priority for the flights when the program becomes available.
The hefty price is no issue for Justin who’s net worth is estimated at $110 million, thanks to the success of songs such as Baby and the adulation of millions of fans - known as Beliebers.
Doing it together: Justin will be traveling with his manager and close friend Scooter Braun...
The Virgin Galactic programme might not be flying just yet, but the 600 astronauts who are part of the program are in an elite group.
Offering up attractions on earth, there will be plenty of interesting opportunities as the date becomes closer.
Justin might enjoy the G-force training, watching test flights in the Mojave Desert and many more prospects.
Not just yet: Justin has paid a $250,0000 deposit fee to get priority for the flights when the program becomes available...
The Boyfriend singer registered no response on his own Twitter account, but he re tweeted Branson's congratulations.
In February, he told his 40 million Twitter followers, ‘I wanna do a concert in space.’ To which NASA replied, ‘Maybe we can help you with that.’
Virgin's Space ShipTwo went through its first supersonic, rocket-powered flight test in California in April, and it's expected to begin commercial operations at Spaceport America in New Mexico as early as next year.
Pleased: Richard Branson shared the news about Justin and Scooter on his Twitter page...
The ride would send Bieber and Braun beyond 62 miles in altitude, which marks the internationally accepted boundary of outer space.
At that height, passengers would feel a few minutes of weightlessness, get a view of the curving Earth beneath a black sky, and then experience a roller-coaster ride back down to a runway landing.
Bieber isn't the first celebrity to sign up: Virgin Galactic's A-list for space also includes Ashton Kutcher, Sarah Brightman, Victoria Principal, and reportedly Tom Hanks, Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie as well.
Planned for a while: It was revealed last year that Ashton was planning a trip to space...
Ashton's trip into space was revealed last year, when Virgin CEO Sir Richard Branson announced the news via his blog.
He wrote: 'I gave Ashton a quick call to congratulate and welcome him. He is as thrilled as we are at the prospect of being among the first to cross the final frontier (and back!) with us and to experience the magic of space for himself.'
Virgin Galactic started taking bookings for space flights back in 2007, with the first flight booked for Christmas Day 2013.
It is as yet unclear exactly when Bieber’s flight will take place.
Generous flyer: Leonardo DiCaprio recently auctioned off a seat next to him on a trip to space for $1.5 million...
