Americans want Eagles back in Miami...

Super Eagles Coach, Stephen Keshi

Hello Friends!

Excited residents of Miami, say they want the Super Eagles back in the city following their exciting display against Venezuela in the friendly game on Wednesday.

Marcos Bandwitch, a Venezuelan fan, said, “We want you to come back and play here and make us love football more because baseball is our game here but you have made us like football very well now.”

A Brazilian, Gi Carlos, who was attached to the Nigerian team, said after he got a green and white shirt from one of the players, that he could not wait to see Nigeria play again in Miami.
“You guys were simply fantastic and we want you back against any team here at Marlins Park,” Carlos said.

Nigeria and Venezuela are the first team to play a soccer game at the Marlins Park, which was built only eight months ago.
Meanwhile, Nigerian Consul General in the United States, Ambassador Jeffrey Temilabe, was overjoyed by the Eagles 3-1 victory over Venezuela.

Addressing the team after the match in the company with Nigeria’s ambassador to Argentina, Ambassador Chive Ignatius Kaave, Temilabe said the Eagles are bringing back memories of when the team were the dominant force in African football by winning the Nations Cup in 1994 and the football gold at the Atlanta’96 Olympic Games.

He assured he would call for support at the highest level of governance for the team ahead of the Africa Cup of Nations in South Africa next year.

On his part, Kaave, who was once a board member of the Nigeria Football Federation, thanked the team and coach Stephen Keshi for returning the country to its glory days in football. He said, “This team must be supported at all times because I see a trophy coming soon to Nigeria through the hard work in the team.”

NFF President Aminu Maigari, told the team not to fret over support from government as he had President Goodluck Jonathan’s assurance to assist the team at all times.
“The President I’m sure must have watched you play and as he told you when he visited, you will not lack any form of support. Let’s just keep the flag flying at all times,” Maigari said.
