Church provides streetlights for Gbagada residents...

Hello Friends!

Incessant attacks and molestation of residents by hoodlums have prompted the Redeemed Christian Church of God, Zone 7 to light up Lateef Shofowora Street, Gbagada in Lagos State.
Speaking shortly before the inauguration on Sunday, the church’s pastor, Ade Omokorede, said the initiative was taken to protect residents from avoidable attacks whenever there was outage in the area.

He said, “There is a directive from the office of the General Overseer to provide community services in the area where our churches are located and by the grace of God, we have been doing this. “When we moved in here, there were cases of robbery at nights and we thought we could do something in that direction. We inaugurated streetlights on Ifelodun Street in February and we are doing another one on Lateef Shofowora Street.

“All the streetlights are connected to our generators and we intend to foot the bills for life. The light would be on as from 7pm to 11pm each day depending on climatic conditions as it could be extended when the need arises.”The Pastor in charge of the Lagos 23 Province, Brown Oyitso, who inaugurated the project, commended Omokorede and his assistant, Pastor Sola Agunbiade, for their efforts.

Oyisto said, “The CSR is very important to the General Overseer he personally instructed that we should carry out this assignment from time to time. When you obey, there are blessings that follow. “If God blesses the church, we can tar this road, organise health services and provide credit schemes for the less privileged.”
