There was panic at the headquarters of the Federal Ministry of Finance, Abuja on Monday when a fire gutted an elevator in the seven-storey building.
The fire, which broke out at 7.15a.m, was caused by an electric spark.
The fire broke out as the elevator was descending from the fifth floor.
However, nobody was in the elevator at the time.
The situation was swiftly contained by private guards in the building as well as civil defence operatives.
There have been concerns about the state of facilities at the complex.
