NSCDC seizes seven trucks with adulterated fuel

Hello Friends!

Ondo State Command of the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps said on Sunday said it had intercepted seven trucks containing 156,600 litres of adulterated fuel in the state.

The state Commandant of the agency, Mr. Isa Shuabu, who stated this while addressing journalists, identified the state as one of the states where illegal bunkering was rampant.

He stated that the NSCDC was committed to eradicating the illegitimate activities.

Shuabu, who took over the command four months ago, said the agency acted on a tip-off and intercepted the trucks in the riverine area of the state.

He said, “From January to date we have been able to intercept seven trucks containing 156,600 litres of adulterated petroleum products. We have also arrested 17 suspects.”

He said some of the persons arrested in connection with the crime were already being prosecuted.

The NSCDC boss identified unemployment as the major reason why the illegal business was still thriving in the state.

He called on the state government and other relevant agencies to be proactive in that regard.
