Michael Jackson's crystal glove set to make more than £250,000 at auction

Some of Michael Jackson's signature fashion wares, including one of his right-handed crystal gloves are set to go under the hammer.

It is expected that the sparkling accessory will fetch in excess of £250,000 - the price paid for an almost identical lot item back in 2009.
Other pieces up for sale include Jackson's Captain EO shirt, the black spandex outfit from his 'Scream' video and the breakaway suit he wore during his BAD tour in the late 1980s.

Before going to auction this December the entire collection will be showcased at various locations across Europe, Asia and South America.

Many of the costumes and personal fashion effects haven't been seen in public since the 50-year-old died on June 25, 2009.

All were created by LA-based designers Dennis Tompkins and Michael Bush, his longtime costumiers.

The Icons and Idols exhibit will open on May 18at the Museo De La Moda in Santiago, Chile and the final sale will take place at Julien’s Auctions on December 2 in their Beverly Hills, California gallery.

A  spokesperson from the auction house said: 'There is no doubt that Michael Jackson was a global fashion icon as well as award winning and beloved musician.

'His wardrobe dictated many of the styles throughout the last few decades. Jackson played a very intimate role in the designs and completion of every costume and piece of clothing he wore both on stage and in his personal life.'

A portion of the proceeds of the auction will benefit two charities, Guide Dogs of America and Nathan Adelson Hospice in Las Vegas.

Costumier Michael Bush will also launch an illustrated book 'Dressing Michael Jackson: Behind the Seams of a Fashion Icon' this October, which details the costumes, apparel, shoes and accessories worn by Jackson.
