Hello Friends!
Up Chelsea!!!! Blues Forever!!!! Never Dulling!!! I am Fan of Chelsea Football Club!!!
Didier Drogba was the hero for Chelsea as the London Club edged out Bayern Munich for European football clubs’ most coveted trophy: the Champions league cup in penalty shootout after a 1-1 draw in regulation time.
Chelsea triumphed in the dramatic shootout 4-3, with Drogba rifling home the decisive goal at the Allianz Arena in Munich.
Drogba had scored the equaliser at the 88th minute, after Thomas Muller had put Bayern ahead in the 83rd.
The Ivorian Captain almost became a villain when in the early part of the extra time, he fouled Frank Ribery in the box, leading to a penalty, taken by ex-Chelsea player Arjen Robben. The penalty was saved by Petr Cech, the Chelsea keeper.
There was no other drama until the game went into penalty shootout.
Bayern netted its first three balls, Chelsea wasted the first but scored the two successive ones. Then Bayern wasted its next two balls, only for Ashley Cole and Didier Drogba to put in the two decisive goals for Chelsea and clinch a trophy that the club had pursued the past six years, with the owner, Russian billionaire Abrahamovitch, investing well over a billion dollars on the club.
