Mo’Hits mum in D’banj, Don Jazzy rift...

Dapo ‘D’banj’ Oyebanjo

Hello Friends!
How did your Saturay go?
I find this story rather interesting, hence my sharing it...
Source: Punch Newspaper:

A few days ago, the rumour mill buzzed with tales of an imminent break-up between the owners of Mo’Hits Records, Don Jazzy, and D’banj.

Tale-bearers even went as far as saying that Don Jazzy had moved out of the mansion they once shared in Lekki Phase 1, Lagos.

Don Jazzy was said to have found D’banj’s lifestyle unbearable and resolved not to work with him any longer.

In turn, D’banj allegedly accused Don Jazzy of delaying the release of his next album and giving excuses, though it took the producer just two days to produce Wande Coal’s new CD.

D’banj is said to have made several disparaging remarks about some of the artistes on the Mo’Hits label, whom he referred to as backup singers.

Efforts by LIFE&BEAT to get the reactions of the allegedly feuding artistes did not yield positive results. But in a recent interview with an American magazine, D’banj was quoted to have said that he owned Mo’ Hits records, a company he partners with Don Jazzy.

As a result, some music fans took to the social media to express their dissatisfaction with the singer’s claim. Soon after, D’banj’s publicist corrected the posting.

In spite of the tension in the house of Mo’ Hits, its management has refused to comment on the rift.

A source told LIFE&BEAT that both parties were busy facing their work. But he refused to comment on the issue because Don Jazzy and D’banj have refused to speak on the matter.

Telephone calls made by LIFE&BEAT to some other members of the Mo’ Hits crew were not answered.

Last Words: I would sincerely suggest that D'Banj or Don Jazzy should open their mouths and put all these ''rumours'', to rest. Their fans should be told the correct status of things rather than cause more assumptions...Like I would always say, ''there is no smoke without fire''.

  1. Dbanj being hot headed, these guys need each other. DBanj is good musician, while Don Jazzy is a multi-talented music producer...their partnership was made in heaven....they need to talk issues like man and move on.
