What was this lady doing in his room? My God! How low can people get? Do you want to know my opinion on this matter? I simply believe she was not raped...let's see how this case unfolds...
The traditional ruler accused of raping a female member of the National Youth Service Corps, Oba Adebukola Ali, has said that he gave the corps member N20,000.
But the 23-year-old corps member (name withheld), who said the monarch threw a wad of money at her in his room, denied taking the money.
These revelations came up during the resumed hearing of the case, before Justice Oyejide Falola, at the state High Court, Osogbo, on Tuesday.
Ali’s lawyer, Mr. Tawfiq Tewogbade, said the traditional ruler gave the lady N20,000 out of the N50,000 she had earlier demanded.
The lawyer told the court that the N20,000 was given to the lady, insisting that the monarch did not rape her.
Passion rose in the courtroom when Tewogbade requested the lady to show her private part in order to buttress her claim of being bruised during the controversial intercourse.
The lady subsequently burst into tears and this prompted the prosecution counsel, Mr. Biodun Badiora, to object the question, saying it was meant to insult the plaintiff.
Justice Falola overruled Tewogbade’s question asked under cross-examination.
Tewogbade said the question was not meant to insult or impugn the integrity of the corps member, stressing that it was meant to shed light on the case.
The monarch’s lawyer added that the lady could show her private part to the court in the chambers of the judge if she could not show it in the court.
On the allegation that she collected N20,000 from the monarch, the lady denied this, saying she did not collect any money from the king.
She said, “The Oba threw a bundle of N200 notes to me but I did not know the actual amount and I rejected it. He then took the money inside his room and came out naked and started caressing me before he eventually raped me.
Ali was accused of forcefully having carnal knowledge of the corps member, on March 25, 2011. He was charged to court on April 4, 2011.
The prosecution had closed its case and the judge adjourned till May 2 for the monarch to begin his defense.

Lol...how did she find herself in his chamber(room) in the first place...she wasn't kidnapped,was she?or is her primary assignment at the palace?
ReplyDeleteLol!!! That is why I said she wasn't raped at all! Silly girl! Maybe the Monarch actually did promise to give her N50, 000 and with that thought in her mind, she followed him right into his room!!!
ReplyDeleteThis is why RAPE cases, are not treated with the right amount of urgency and seriousness that it deserves! Many girls who are "loose", have given the false belief that what women want is MONEY and nothing else!
We still have decent women who would not sleep with a man, even if you promise to give them heaven and earth!
It's all about the upbringing, personal belief and
principles...
