Define Your Relationships...

Hello Friends!

There is wisdom in clear precise definition of words or situations..In as much as there are different progressive levels in a relationship, it's only wise and logical that each level is defined. This clear definition will guide all parties involved on how to behave at various levels of the relationship. I maintain various types of relationships and seldom have the same kind of relationship with any of my friends.
As a People service person, I understand how the human mind works and have come to accept that there is just no way you can safely and comfortably treat everyone the same way! That being said, I would like to narrow my thoughts to a supposed friendship relationship with the opposite sex. Ironically, my best friends are males and I feel extremely comfortable around them. This not withstanding, I define the level of the association from the onset to prevent any mis understanding or dis respect as the case may be - strictly " friends without benefits" Recently, I am beginning to wonder if a male friend of mine (who has a serious girlfriend) ever got my relationship definition right from the onset! We have been friends for almost 4years and he is a total sweet heart! However, when your friendship on a clear platonic level becomes complicated, then it is time to re define that relationship or simply call it quits! For those of us that value people and our respective association with each person, we would rather opt for re definition! Since people come into our lives for specific reasons, ensuring that we value the friendship for as long as it last, is important.

If the feeling is mutual, then there is room to proceed to the next level. If you or the other party dis agrees on what is best for the relationship, then simply but clearly re define what you want so all parties are on the same page. Communication in any kind of relationship, is always the best option to solving simple and complicated problems...For those of us who have boyfriends/girlfriends/wives and husbands, we must also maintain healthy but clearly defined relationships with other people...Life is all about relationships and how we treat and handle them will invariably determine our growth in life...
The Weekend has started out here...It's TGIF time and it's a chance to interact with fellow colleagues and let our hair loose!!! Enjoy Your weekend!
