Psquare Open Up – ‘We Have No Hand In Our Mom’s Death’

P-Square...

Hello Friends!

Popular musicians Paul and Peter Okoye, aka Psquare have broken their silence on their alleged involvement in the death of their mother.

On Thursday, July 12, 2012, the world received the sad news of the death of Mrs Josephine Okoye. She was reported to have died after an unsuccessful heart surgery in an Indian hospital in Kolkata. NET gathered that the supportive mother, who had been a pillar of support to her children, had been ill for a while, as her last public appearance was the Psquare Invasion concert in August 2011. She took ill shortly after and was diagnosed with a severe case of diabetes. Although initially admitted at the St. Nicholas hospital in Lagos, she was eventually flown abroad after her case deteriorated.

Mrs. Okoye passed away after over 5 hours of heart surgery, according to Psquare’s older brother, Jude Okoye, ‘You know that she was a prayer warrior, so I don’t need to tell you how she stood by us spiritually. Besides, she was the only one that believed in us when we decided to make a career out of music. I can remember that she used to sneak us out at night then to attend shows without the consent of our father who insisted that we must quit music to face our education’ he added.

Sympathizers, included friends, colleagues and fans thronged the artistes’ Omole residence to sign the condolence register and commiserate with the brothers.

While the Okoye family where busy making arrangements to give their beloved mother a proper and befitting burial in their home town in Anambra State, rumours broke out alleging that the brothers were members of the Illuminati Cult and had sacrificed their mom for fame and wealth. The rumour mongers were quick to come up with various theories to back up their allegations, a few of them including their riches and fame, joining Akon’s Konvict Music and featuring popular American rapper Rick Ross in one of their songs, among many other stories.

The absence of many friends and colleagues in the music industry at the Burial also fueled the rumours, as many claimed many of the artistes were afraid of being attached to the alleged Illuminati caucus. The Illuminati is alleged to be a conspiratorial organization, which is alleged to mastermind events and control world affairs through governments and corporations to establish a New World Order, they most common sign is that of a pyramid (The triangle shape).

K-Solo Rejects Wife’s New Baby, To Marry Strange Lover

K-Solo and his new lover Bimbo.

Hello Friends!

You’ve probably heard about the drama circling Nigerian music producer cum singer Solomon Oyeniyi akaK-Solo, and his now estranged wife Kikelomo. If you haven’t, let’s give you a recap.

In June 2012, Kikelomo granted City People Magazine an interview revealing details of her turbulent relationship with K-Solo.

According to her, the producer had been abusing her since they got married in November 2011. The couple met on Facebook in April 2011, but she says the relationship had always been plagued with lies and infidelity. Despite all this, Kike says when K Solo came begging, she forgave him and they eventually got married.

K Solo and estranged wife Kikelomo

But the case worsened, Kike says, as K Solo showed his ugly side again, asking her to make him a signatory to her company’s account and to sign over all her property to him. He also continued to physically abuse her, causing her to miscarry. The marriage finally crashed in February 2012, but not before Kike published photos of bruised face, allegedly taken while she was with K-Solo.

Shockingly, the couple reunited in August, granting Channels TV an interview where they claimed to have been ‘just having fun’, pulling a simple prank ‘to know who their real friends were.’ Critics took the revelation with a pinch of salt, with people commenting that Kike must have been put under duress to deny the battery. ‘She was worried about her baby, that’s what she cares for right now’, a source who knows the couple told us.

K-Solo says he knows nothing about Kike’s newly born baby boy…

Back to the present – Dust has been raised once again as just last week, K-Solo posted pictures of himself and another woman on his Facebook account, claiming to be engaged to her. He has deleted old photos of himself and Kike, replacing them with photos of him and his new lover, Bimbo, in each other’s arms.

So what’s happened to Kike and her baby? K-Solo has refused to divulge any information, telling us ‘When it’s time, you will all know the truth and the truth shall set you free. But for now hang on Google’.

Meanwhile, reports say on Friday, October 26, Kikelomo delivered her first child, a baby boy. K-Solo has received congratulatory messages from fans on social networks, Facebook and Twitter but is not responding to them. Instead, he has released a statement, warning websites and blogs not to refer to the ‘deliverer of the baby as K-Solo’s wife.’

Teenage girl killed by policemen is buried

Lucy
Lucy

Hello Friends!

Family of Lucy Ukpong, the 18-year-old sales girl killed by some policemen in Apo, Abuja on October 12, have said nothing short of justice will be acceptable to them.
This is just as Lucy was buried amid tears at Etinan Local Government Area of Akwa Ibom State on Saturday.

PUNCH Metro had reported on Friday that the police authorities had pleaded with the family to accept an amicable settlement of the matter.
But Lucy’s uncle, Tony Ukpong, who spoke with our correspondent in Etinan on Saturday, insisted that the family was more interested in justice.

Although he acknowledged that the police had made entreaties to the family, he said family members were still meeting and had yet to decide whether to dialogue with the police authorities or not. Tony said, “Justice must be done because the way Lucy was killed is not acceptable to us; we demand justice and nothing less.

“We have no demand but we want to go into a dialogue. We have not stated any of our demands. Negotiation is ongoing within the family that is the best I can tell you.”
Meanwhile, the National Coordinator, Greater Gbagyi Development Initiative, Gbaiza Gimba, has said the organisation will not allow the matter to be swept under the carpet.

Gimba, who spoke with our correspondent after the burial, said the group took interest in the matter in line with its principle that justice must be done to aggrieved parties.
“We believe that Lucy died for justice. We shall be ready to give her justice. Whatever the situation, we will be talking with our leaders, our traditional institutions in making sure that justice is done to ameliorate the suffering of the son that she left behind,” he said.

He blamed police brutality on bad leadership, adding that the leaders had abdicated their responsibility. Gimba observed that in developed countries, policemen use rubber bullets to disperse crowd during civil unrest, wondering why the Nigeria Police always use live bullets to disperse protesters.

‘Gulak trying to cause problem for Jonathan’

President Goodluck Jonathan

Hello Friends!

The Special Adviser (Political Matters) to the Deputy Senate President, Okey Ozoani, has said President Goodluck Jonathan does not deserve aides who lack understanding of their responsibilities.
Ozoani said this in a statement, in Abuja, on Sunday, while responding to remarks credited to the Special Adviser to the President on Political Matters, Mr. Ahmed Gulak.

The claims by Gulak that the National Assembly should be blamed for poor budget implementation as well as the late passage of Appropriation Act, among other allegations, Ozoani said, were spurious. Ozoani added that Gulak’s claims that the Deputy Senate President said most National Assembly members were illiterates was unfortunate.

He said, “This coming from Mr. Gulak, who has found pleasure in courting trouble for the Presidency by his reckless statements on not just the National Assembly and its officers, but also respected elder statesmen of the Federal Republic, is not surprising.
“While the Deputy President of the Senate would not want to join issues with Gulak, it is imperative for the Presidential Adviser to know the limits of his importance-seeking, fawning, and trouble-courting fits.

“It is unfortunate that Gulak, who is supposed to be neck and neck in gainful political strategies and bridge-building for Mr. President has practically reassigned himself the disreputable role of troublemaking, meddlesome interloping and indeed bridge breaking.
“First, it is unfortunate that Gulak is quick to point out when the 2012 national budget was passed without also stating when it was submitted to the National “Assembly.

“The 2012 Appropriation Act was submitted in December 2011 and passed by the National Assembly in March 2012. Gulak’s claim that enough work goes into the Appropriation Bills before submission to the National Assembly does not in any way preclude the parliament as co-managers of the economy from subjecting such budget estimates to legislative scrutiny and due process.”

Chelsea files complaint against referee after loss to Man U

Referee Mark Clattenburg

Hello Friends!

Chelsea manager Roberto Di Matteo says the officials “ruined” the game as the Blues slumped to their first Premier League defeat of the season against Manchester United at Stamford Bridge.
Branislav Ivanovic and Fernando Torres were both given red cards in the space of five minutes just after the hour in United’s 3-2 win – with the Spaniard’s dismissal for diving disputed by Chelsea.

Chelsea also lodged a complaint to the Premier League match delegate over the alleged use of “inappropriate language” by referee Mark Clattenburg towards two of their players
A club spokesman said, “The match delegate will pass the complaint to the Football Association.”

Referees’ organisation Professional Game Match Officials later issued a statement which said, “PGMO is aware of the allegations and they are being treated with the utmost seriousness.
“Mark will co-operate fully and welcomes the opportunity for the facts to be established.”

United took advantage of Chelsea being reduced to nine men as Javier Hernandez scored a late winner from an offside position to leave Sir Alex Ferguson’s side a point behind the league leaders. “The second yellow card [shown to Torres] wasn't one and the decisive goal was offside,” said Di Matteo.

“It is a shame a game like this had to be decided in that manner by officials. Surely when the referee watches it he will realize he has made big mistakes.
“Fernando put the ball between Jonny Evans’s legs and he was kicked on the shin and went down. Whatever way you want to see it that is our foul and a yellow card for their player, not ours.”

“It is a shame because it was a good game of football with two good teams and the officials ruined it.” Manchester United manager Ferguson admitted his side rode their luck with Hernandez’s winner, but believes Torres must shoulder the blame for his red card.

Clockwise: Victims of the suicide attack on St. Rita’s Catholic Church, Ungwan Yero, Kaduna at the Garkuwan Hospital. Another victim receiving treatment at the hospital. Interior of the church after the attack ... on Sunday.

Hello Friends!

The suicide bomber who killed eight Catholic worshippers in Kaduna on Sunday drove into the church as worshippers knelt praying and the priest was serving the Holy Communion, eyewitnesses and survivors said.

The bombing, which happened at the St. Ritas Catholic Church, Ungwan Yero, Malali, Kaduna State, also left 100 injured. However, seven persons were reportedly killed in the reprisals that followed the blast.

A victim, Jacinta Oko, said, “We just heard the loud sound of the bomb blast when we were preparing to take Holy Communion. Before I knew what was happening, I found myself on the ground. I can say that so many people died because it affected the side where the choir members were sitting.”

A 30-year-old mother of four, Veronica Johnson, who also survived the bombing, confirmed that they were in the middle of the service when the suicide bomber hit the church. Johnson, spoke at the bedside of her two children-victims at the St. Gerard Catholic Hospital.
She said, “We were in the church, and it was during the consecration when everybody was kneeling down and praying. All of a sudden, we heard the deafening sound of the bomb.

“The bomb went off near where the choristers were sitting. So many people died, and so many people were injured. I saw some people lying down flat within the church premises.
“All of my four children were in the church when the thing happened, but my husband was not in the church. They all sustained injuries. One is just four months old.”

Another survivor, Ishaku James, said when the suicide bomber attempted to enter the church, he was prevented and he (bomber) reversed and rammed into the church through the fence.
He said, “There are many dead and injured people who were taken to Garkuwa Hospital, Saint Gerald Catholic Hospital, Army 44 Reference Hospital and Barau Dikko Specialist Hospital.

“The suicide bomber used a Honda CRV SUV. The church is called Saint Rita’s Catholic Church, Ungwan Yero, Malali. The bomb blast happened at about 8.30am when the Parish Priest was blessing the sacrament.

“Even if there were security men, they couldn’t have stopped the bomber because he came driving with a force and crashed through the fence of the church, and not through the gate of the church. The car used by the bomber got burnt, and the body of the bomber was left dangling on the wall of the church.
