Hello Friends!

Mariah Carey's estranged HIV-positive ex-prostitute sister has issued a desperate plea to her superstar sister - to let her meet her niece and nephew.

Alison Carey, 50, revealed she yearned to finally meet her sisters children Moroccan Scott and Monroe.
As the mother-four spoke out from her Long Island outpatient facility her sister took to the stage at the 11th edition of the Mawazine International Music Festival in an outfit dripping with gold, a far cry from Alison's lifestyle.

Alison Carey, 50, has begged Mariah, 42, to get in touch after a number of health scares and a lengthy battle with drugs.
She told The Sun: ‘If I had a message it would be, “Just call me”.’

Her HIV positive sibling – who revealed she worked as a prostitute in New York to clothe and feed their family before she Mariah found fame - hasn't spoken to the star properly since having a huge argument in 1994.

Now she is trying to reconnect following the first birthday of her nephew and niece – fathered by presenter Nick Cannon - Moroccan and Monroe.

She is in the region with her son Moroccan, whose moniker was inspired by the country.

Hello Friends!

The moment police shot a naked man to death as he chewed the face off another man has been caught on CCTV.
Images show the legs of two men lying beneath a freeway underpass in Miami when a police car arrives on the scene.

Police shot the man thinking it would end the attack, but the aggressor continued to bite his victim prompting authorities to fire at least half a dozen shots until he died.

The man is fighting for his life in a nearby hospital after suffering critical injuries in the savage attack.

Neither the naked man nor the victim have been identified.
A woman notified a police officer nearby that she had seen two men fighting, witnesses told The Miami Herald.

A series of gunshots were heard at the off-ramp of the MacArthur Causeway along North 13th Street.
When the officer located the men, the aggressive naked male was in the process of chewing the victim, who was also not wearing any clothes, the Herald reported.
The officer demanded that the naked man stop what he was doing.

But when he refused to listen and continued to feast on the victim, the officer shot him, according to the newspaper.
Despite suffering a bullet wound, the naked man would not stop so the officer fired about six more shots.

In that barrage of gunfire, the naked man was killed, collapsing face-down on the pedestrian walkway right by the Herald's parking garage.
Javier Ortiz, a police spokesman, said that based on information he's received, the officer who fired the shots 'is a hero and saved a life'.

The victim was transported to Jackson Memorial Hospital Ryder Trauma Center and is said to be suffering from massive injuries.
Very little is known about the circumstances leading up to the attack, but police have speculated that the victim may have been homeless.

Witness Larry Vega told Local 10: 'I stopped a City of Miami police officer and informed him that a homeless man was killing another person by biting and ripping his face to death.'
'The police officer confronted the aggressor, and he was like a rabid dog and confronted the officer. Then the officer shot the person four times,' he continued.

There were no weapons found near the two naked men, leading them to believe that the attacker used his own strength to subdue his victim.
'There are other ways to injure people,' Sergeant Altarr William told The Herald.

'Some people know martial arts, others are very strong and can kill you with their hands.'

No tests have been done to prove this, but police have also stated that they think the attacker was likely suffering from a 'cocaine psychosis', side effects from the drug which raise the body's temperature and prompts the individual to strip.

MacArthur Causeway is a major route that connects downtown Miami to popular South Beach.
Traffic clogged the area for hours as people used the route to descend into South Beach for Urban Beach Week, an annual festival dedicated to hip-hop music.

2 killed as gunmen attack cleric, muslim worshippers

Hello Friends!

An anti-Boko Haram muslim cleric in Potiskum, Yobe state in Nigeria’s north east has escaped death after gunmen opened fire on worshippers outside his home Sunday evening.

The attack in the northeastern city of Potiskum occurred outside the cleric’s home, where he leads prayers on Sunday evenings, but it was not clear whether he was there at the time of the shooting.

Residents said he was present and unharmed, but the military said he was out of town.

The cleric is known to be critical of Islamist group Boko Haram, but has also criticised a military task force in the area over a recent attack that destroyed the city’s cattle market and left at least 34 people dead.
“Some unknown gunmen attacked Shia worshippers this evening, killing one and injuring four others,” Colonel Dahiru Abdussalam, commander of the task force, told AFP.”Soldiers and policemen deployed to the area and cordoned it off with the hope of finding the attackers.”

Residents and a nurse spoke of two dead and five wounded, saying the cleric’s brother and driver were killed.
“It was around 6:30 when the cleric was leading his followers in evening prayers,” one resident said.

Demi Moore & Ashton Kutcher Together Again — Calling Off Divorce?

Demi Moore and Ashton Kutcher Back Together

Hello Friends!

The pair has reportedly met twice to discuss their future — do YOU think they will give marriage another shot?
Demi Moore and Ashton Kutcher have had numerous personal difficulties since their Nov. 2011 split, but it seems the pair might be giving marriage a second try!

Demi, 49, and Ashton, 34, have met twice in recent weeks with Rabbi Yehuda Berg, who officiated their wedding, a source tells RadarOnline.com.

“They have met up to discuss where to go next — whether it be to divorce, or if there is a journey to travel together….they both feel it’s important to have spiritual guidance to accomplish it,” a source close to the meetings said.

“I know they met up with Rabbi around the time of the Gemini New Moon last Monday, it signifies a time of new beginnings, especially when it comes to communication, so they met again before the party, at least once, maybe twice. The idea was to discuss, where do they go from here. They’re by no means getting back together but equally no decision has been made to end things for good so everything is to play at this stage.”

I am not in a rush to remarry – Iyabo Ojo

Hello Friends!

How has life been with you as an actress and a single mother?

Initially, when I joined the industry it wasn’t easy because my children were young then, and they needed my attention. It was hard trying to cope with the job and bringing up the children but in life, you always learn to cope.

Now it is much easier because they have grown up, already in secondary schools and can do pretty much by themselves and to even make things all the more easier, my mum now stays with me. It was not easy at all in the beginning but we thank God we have come this far.

Would you say acting as a career has been rewarding to you?

Yes, acting has been rewarding to me. Financially, morally and it has opened many doors for me. It has afforded me the opportunity to meet a lot of people in life, especially, very important personalities. It has created a platform for me to launch myself and has made me famous. Being famous means you are always in the eyes of the public.

Though that has also restricted my private life greatly and people get to say a lot of things they don’t even know about you but apart from that, acting has really been good.

So are you saying you regret being a celebrity?

When you are successful at what you do, then you don’t have a regret. It is when you are not successful that you entertain the thoughts of regrets. The fame as you said is simply the price you pay for being in this line of work.

Initially, as a starter you might want to back out, saying oh my God what is this I am doing to myself but with time you get used to it , it now becomes like an everyday thing to you. Just like people who work in the bank; they have to wake up very early in the morning and get back very late in the night. It is the price that comes with the job. So, one way or another, everybody has got a price to pay.

Can you still remember the actual film that launched you into stardom?

I must say that my rise to stardom was a gradual process. But the movies that brought me to the limelight were two movies that were released the same day. One is “Ogaa” and the other is “Ife Odale.” When they came out, they created so much awareness for me.

If you are going to take up a script ,what is the first thing you consider and what will make you accept or reject a script?

The first thing that would make me accept a script is the story and the first thing that would make me reject it is also the story. If I don’t jell with the story, I may not go for the movie.

I also have to look at who is directing it, and who and who are starring in the movie. The producer might be a refresher, it doesn’t matter to me as long as he has got a good story and a good hand directing it and packed together some professionals to feature in the film.

Have ever had to reject a script before?

Oh I reject scripts all the time. I reject especially when I don’t understand the reason for the story. I am one of those that believe every story must have a message. If I am not convinced about the message of the story, I reject the script.

At times, I might not be comfortable with who is directing the movie and sometimes I might not be comfortable with people featuring in the movie. All these sometimes make me reject a script. And sometimes, when I have worked too much, I always seek a break out to rest and when I get a script between the time I need to rest and the time to spend time with my children, I would either ask them to postpone or have to reject all together.

You started acting when?

I started acting in 1998. My first movie was Satanic. It was directed by Basorge and it had people like Keppy Ekpeyong, Bimbo Akintola and others. That was when I was acting in English-speaking films. I started fully in Yoruba in 2002. My first Yoruba film was Baba Darijinwon produced by Alhaji Yinka Quadri.

What has been your most challenging role up to date?

Like I tell people, I haven’t done my most challenging movie yet. But I do have some favourite movies I talk about all the time. Oro Lanre peseje is a Yoruba movie I really hold dear to my heart. It was produced by Muka Ray but my own produced movie that I really hold dear to my heart is Arinzo. It is fresh and it is going to hit the cinemas very soon.

No doubt you are up there now, a celebrity, probably very comfortable but which movie has made most money for you?

All my movies produced by me have made me good money. In every movie I produced, I made money from but I can’t say precisely how much I have made from them.

Like this your new movie, how much have you put into it and how much are you looking to make from it?

9ice debuts in Nollywood

Hello Friends!

Nigerian singer Abolore Adegbola Akande, aka 9ice, is gradually considering acting as a second career. He has accepted to play a lead role in Laide Bakare‘s new flick ‘Jejere‘ (Tumour).

According to Bakare, ‘the film, which is produced by Sim Line International, is about an African hero that saved his environment‘.
In the film, which was shot in three weeks, 9ice plays a husband and father.

On the role he played in the movie, 9ice said ‘I played Dele, who had a bad experience in his first marriage following the sudden demise of his wife. He was left alone to cater for his little daughter.

The ‘Gongo Aso’ singer said the challenges were quite different when compared to what he experienced in the music industry. ‘I learnt a whole lot; most importantly the cast on set becomes a unified entity after several days on set together .’

“Being the first time on set, I have to act, cry when nothing is actually wrong with me, laugh when nothing is really funny. I also have to depict this character in the presence of others. It is a privilege to be part of ‘Jejere’ and I look forward to the premiere‘ he said.

Asked if he has any intention to go into acting, 9ice replied in the affirmative, ‘if the pay is right with good content and the standard is on point, why not?’

Other actors in the movie include Emeka Ike, Oby Alex O, Fathia Balogun, Akin Lewis, Ebun Oloyede, and Bakare herself.
